This hotel is a rare example of old style new style vietnam architecture. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The hotel personnel is very very accomodating, but you can notice this is not a commercially run hotel, but we loved it. Food was very good and a very fair price. Imagine drinking a french bordeaux wine for 30 US$.
The hotel is near to Tam Coc and the other sites, if you take a taxi. Forget any other way of transport. No bikes available. I cannot advise to do laundry here.

This hotel is brand new and is located right in the middle of a Pagoda. When I visited with my two friends in February '15, the hotel was practically empty. I think there were 3 other guests staying there. As this hotel is huge, the emptiness gave it a very eerie feel. I also felt very isolated staying there as it is a while away from the town and any shops. The staff weren't very helpful at all. They hardly spoke a word of english. They were quite awkward as it seemed they were not used to having guests. They did not understand our food orders and it was even difficult trying to order a taxi. The food was not very good at all. Despite this, the rooms were great, very big and spacious and well decorated. The view from the room is also magnificent. However when we were there the weather was terrible and the Pagoda was under construction. Unfortunately, because it was so empty and we were unable to communicate with the staff, the hotel had no atmosphere and not a very nice feel to it. I would not stay here again.

I planned to visit Bai Dinh Pagoda so I booked stay in here because it's location in Bai Dinh Pagoda. Its easy to visit Pagoda in the evening (this tour about $26/per/trip and u have to stay in hotel if not u can't buy this tour in the evening)The space so quite. Room is big. I paid $43/night but unfortunately the power off :((( so long. Its hot and hard to sleep. The breakfast was not delicious. I didn't like it. I stayed here bc the tour in night you should try. You have to book the tour soon same time when you book the room online. If not they can't be scheduling.

Dear Thảo Vy N, Thank you very much for sharing your experience following your stay at our hotel. Although it was about a year and a half ago, we still wish to write a reply to say thank you for your review and to keep you updated about the changes. We were glad to know that you love the night tour to Bai Dinh Pagoda Complex where the hotel belongs to. Bai Dinh Hotel is located in Bai Dinh Commune as an extended part of Bai Dinh Pagoda Complex. Despite being quite far from other sites, our property hides from busy places of Ninh Binh which brings guests a tranquil stay among the trees, lime-stones and hills. Many of our guests have valued their stay as a truly getaway. Since 2019, our management have seriously worked on issues and complaints reported by our guests including yours. Please rest assured that all aspects you mentioned have been addressed. There have been many good changes. E.g. A new A-la-carte vegetarian restaurant was opened to serve small groups, new breakfast menu, or signboards of directions were installed in suitable points, communications between staff have also been improved, etc. We would make sure coming guests never encounter any of those problems again in the future. Nowadays, outside guests could book our night tours via sales@trangangroup.com or cskh@trangangroup.com. The tour starts at our hotel lobby at 7:00PM or we could adjust starting time to suit private groups' requests. We wish you all the best and look forward to welcoming you back soon to experience our standard service. Yours sincerely, Tommy Pham Mr. Guest Relations Manager Bai Dinh Hotel

You honestly can't get a bad dish at this restaurant. Everything was delicious. Steamed goat meat is going to cost you a little bit more than other places around, however try it at least once in your time in Ninh Binh as you're guaranteed good food.
The staff are very attentive and just so nice!

Built about 12 years ago this huge pagoda with massive temple and tower is very impressive with good views. But with the dining room catering for hundreds - and we were the ONLY guests - it was cold and uninviting. The dining room staff did not understand English and we ended up with double of everything - pointing at things on the menu. The menu in one area was only in Vietnamese. The menu was very limited. Pity because we have really enjoyed menus and food variety offered in other places. Admittedly we don't speak Vietnamese in their country but have been helped by very friendly staff with enough English, everywhere else.

We stayed here 01 night. Relaxing atmosphere at night. If you plan to visit Trang An & Bai Dinh pagoda then this is a good place to stay.

You can drive from the bus station directly to the hotel on the hill.

Be prepare for an empty hotel.

Breakfast is included but poor.

Nice complex and pleasant rooms but agree previous reviewers that not yet ready for tourists- poor menu, no English in dining room, and unaware of travellers customs eg beer off shelf at room temperature; dry bread and jam but not toast and butter for breakfast... Has potential but will need to get mentoring in to meet even average standards of foreign travellers. Again, we were the only party of 4 in huge dining room capable of seating hundreds- felt very uncomfortable.
Could not recommend at present.

The grounds were absolutely stunning...when we could get in them, because it is inside a beautiful pagoda the security guard at the bottom would not let us in! We drove round 4 times ending up back at the same gates. The security guard kept turning us away, the hotel were very apologetic about it but it should not have taken us an hour and half to get in in the heat of the sun!!!!!
The hotel staff were not very active, the hotel didn't have any water to drink and would not serve us drinks at one point, however the grounds them self were absolutely stunning...probably better taking a day trip to the pagoda and not staying at the hotel!!

The hotel is located inside Bai Dinh Pagoda. It's beautiful and quiet, but it's very far from other attractions such as Trang An and Tam Coc. Due to the limitations, we had to eat in the hotel and the food was quite expensive.
