Detailed Reviews
It is a very nice camp with very nice staff. In particular, the kitchen is recommended. Fresh dishes are prepared daily. In the middle of the Maasai Mara you can get breakfast on request including omelets. A delicious cold tusker is part of the evening! Perfect! :-) The location right at the gate to the Mara is also very good!
Grettings to our Maasai friends Ratiah (best cook in Mara), Lelesch and friends! We hope we can come back soon!

This is a fantastic place to stay, located just a few meters from Talek Gate. Patrick and the chef were incredibly accommodating, ensuring we received exactly what we asked for, including a rice meal for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay – the rooms were comfortable, the hot water worked perfectly, and the Wi-Fi was reliable.
On the downside, we were assigned a different game driver, and while the driver/guide was alright, we felt Joseph would have been a better fit. We had spoken with Joseph before the game drive, and he provided us with far more insightful information than our assigned driver. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the pride of lions, and we missed the wildebeest crossing that others witnessed on the same day.

A nice camp in the bush. We had a lovely stay in the luxury tent. The staff go out of their way to take care of us and to make my birthday special with dinner by the bush in native Swahili song. The staff was kind and professional. Highly recommend. a special shout-out to Isaac, Andrew, Daniel, Joseph, Mary, Anthony, Duncan.

We booked through Booking.com. The pictures from the "standard" Deluxe tents are not accurate. Many of the pictures are from the Deluxe Suite (Luxury) tents. Carpets, chairs etc are not available in the DeLuxe tents. The picture from the restaurant with a white ceiling is not accurate. the restaurant is dark and cave like.
We booked 4 tents. In one tent the shower did not work. In three tents the toilet where not really working well. We hade to help the kids (14 years old) with the flushing bu lifting the cistern lid and manually flush. The lunch box was terrible: one piece of white bread with eggs, smallm piece of banana and small piece of chicken.
We booked 3 nights but left after 2. The host was very understanding and offered os a complimentary night in the luxury tents some time in the future. Our plans for new year was ruined but we managed to get back to Nairobi and celebrated there instead.

We just spent three dreamy nights at Olkinyei Mara Safari Camp, and it was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home. The tents were luxurious and beautifully designed, blending comfort with an authentic safari experience.
The food was delicious, with great variety and quality that catered to all tastes.
A special shoutout to Joseph, our amazing guide, who made our safari experience unforgettable. His sharp eyes and deep knowledge of the area meant we were always the first to witness incredible action.
The people, the place (very close to the Talek Gate), and the atmosphere make Olkiney Mara Safari Camp a must-visit. We can't wait to come back soon!

Small camp of 11 tents located in the shade of a beautiful forest. Spacious tents with comfortable beds, sockets for charging phones and cameras. Shower with hot water. Simple but good and plentiful food, possibility of requesting a picnic for those who want to spend the whole day in the park. Helpful and very attentive staff.
Excellently located at Talek Gate. Possibility to go on safari with their 4x4.

The tents were fully redecorated in a luxury style. Beds are lovely, sheets and towels fresh! Shower was hot and warm and all was available what we wished for. Eco friendly camp! Very very very friendly staff each and everyone. Food was delicious! Cook was great and meals fresh. Anything was possible for safari to get packed breakfast and/or lunch. Bar and restaurant will be decorated in the dame style as the tents which will upgrade the camp eve more. Such a good wuality and right near the Talek gate ( 100 meter). Highly recommended!

+1
I spent 6 days at the camp and cannot fault it, having wanted to visit the mara and do it under canvas for many years this camp was perfect, close to park gate, river separating camp from park.. Perfect.
This camp is not for you if you live with phone in hand and cannot survive without Facebook.... But it is for you if you want to do the mara as it should be done
Top class camp, well done, see you again 😁

Excellent accomodation and food. Very friendly staff always going out of their way to help. Great location - right beside gate to enter the park and on the first night there were elephants across the river from the camp. Would recommend as place to stay
