MPT Bison Resort situated essentially at the forest entry point puts you in touch with nature at its pristine best. Nestled in the back waters of Tawa Reservoir, this beautiful waterfront property is popular for its fine cottages, peerless hospitality and breathtaking ambiance.
I visited this place with my spouse and stayed two nights in December 2019. Mr Arvind Sharma head of this resort was very friendly and looked after all our requirements to see that we enjoy to the maximum. Since we had CP plan where all meals were included in our package, we had to compulsorily take meals inside the resort. Dine experience was not so pleasing as spread was very limited. We recommend that neatness in the resort be improved and spread in the buffet meals be improved so as to make this awesome location more worthy.
Staff attitude was positive all the time.

When the property and the location you are staying in are already excellent, it's the small things that count to make the experience truly memorable. Located on the banks of the serene river Denva, the Bison resort by Madhya Pradesh Tourism is the perfect choice for a sojourn in the Satpuras. The safari booking office is right outside the property and all vehicles for the safaris leave from here too.
The rooms are cosy and well appointed, equipped with everything from an AC to room heater, depending on whether you arrive here during chilly winter or extremely hot summer. The view from the balcony, overlooking the Denva, takes the cake. The tariff includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, which makes it value for money. The food is delicious with lots of options to choose from. I liked the fact that in addition to the regular paneer/kofta gravies, they also serve vegetables like sponge gourd (gilkhi). My husband relished the fish curry made from a fresh catch of rohu.
A word particularly for the staff that is very warm and accommodating, true to Madhya Pradeshi hospitality. They usually lay out a buffet spread for lunch and dinner but because we and a couple of other guests checked in past lunchtime, they served the food on every table individually so that it was fresh and hot and the taste didn't suffer because of reheating. They remained helpful throughout, respecting the fact that guests visit the property primarily to explore the forest.

I visited MPT Bison Resort for 2 nights on new year's eve with family and had a fantastic stay. The property has amazing river facing views and is right across the Satpura Tiger Reserve.
Rooms: Optimum size, well maintained and sanitized per COVID-19 protocols. Best part is the river facing balcony
Property: Large, green, beautifully maintained and rustic. Has a swimming pool and multiple sitting areas including an outside dining area
Dining: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is all included in the room tariff and is served as buffet. The food is tasty, hygienic and homely. The spread is decent and has veg as well as non veg food. They arranged for a special traditional themed dinner on new year's eve.
Service: This is one big strength of this resort compared to any other MPT resort I have visited. The quality of service is very professional and warm. They are slightly understaffed but still extremely efficient as a team. Personalized attention is given to all guests and all efforts are put in to make the stay comfortable.
A special mention for the manager Mr. Eliyas who holds the fort really well. He is extremely efficient, polite and approachable. He is also quite helpful with local safari/ activity recommendations (especially considering there are a lot of money traps being used by local safari guides).
Would love to visit again, keep up the great work.

Important note for foreigners planning to book this resort - they rejected our request to book safari in Satpura core zone. They only advised us to use the governmental website for safari bookings. However, this website is not working with foreigners who do not have a local mobile number. This was really strange and unfriendly. We travel in many Indian national parks and every hotel is happy to book safaris for us. Even small and cheap hotels do help their guests with this. Bison Resort isn't cheap and it is very inconvenient for foreign visitors that they can not help with safari reservations. We cancelled our room reservation and booked another hotel which booked safaris for us.

I was participant in our group of 12 people from Mumbai. I stayed in MPT Bison Resort Madhai from 27 April to 30 April (3nights). On our arrival at the resort, polite,well mannered gentleman Mr. Bhuvan Soni welcomed all of us . This MPT Bison Resort is scenic,well planned and located on the bank of backwater. Rooms are very clean, sanitised,spacious and fitted with Air conditioner,fans, intercom and WiFi facility. Bathroom have geasers,dryers. Also kept complimentary drinking water bottles,tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Surprisingly all were working perfectly, which is unthinkable in any State Government run tourism resorts. Any room service or complaints were attended within minutes. Breakfast and lunch,dinner is buffet style veg,non veg dishes and served on time.Food is tasty. All restaurant staff behaviour is very good. If you are foody then Friday night dinner is most enjoyable for them,because several mouth watering dishes and soups are prepared in earthen pots in old traditional methods and varities of Roties are prepared on 'Chuli'. Food is served in open air lawns. I recommend this resort for anyone visiting Madhai. I really enjoyed stay and returned fully satisfied. I hope in future also they maintain such high standard and satisfy tourists. Keep it up. Great

Stayed at this property for 3 nights recently. Over all a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It is a good getaway for guest from Bhopal since it is only 150 kms approx where as it is not worth the trouble of driving around 325 kms from Nagpur. The place boast of a jungle safari in Jeep, Boat, Trekking in core area and even a bycycle safari in Buffer area.The staff at the property are local boys who are very prompt, responsive and courteous but lack training in serving the guest. for eg ; touching food with bare hands, not switching on the the available fly catcher, not switching on the plate warmer , serving dinner in extreme poor light etc. The management needs to look into this aspect. A majority of the staff violated laid down covid protocals although covid precaution boards were prominently displayed. The reason given was ..there were no covid cases in that area, not realising Guest can be the carriers......I feel since Satpura Tiger Reserve does not have a large prey base, it does not boast of very many Big cats. Hence, except for those living within a radius of maximum 150 to 175 kms radius, others can think of giving a go bye to the place.

MP Tourism Bison Resort is relatively under explored place and remains one of the best and quiet places to enjoy the solitude in the lap of the nature. Beautifully located with lake/backwaters in front and panoramic views from the rooms ,it is a totally relaxing experience. The staff is very efficient, and well mannered to extend all the assistance. One can go for boating, jungle safari and a morning trek there. There are limited mobile network connectivity( BSNL, Jio) there but the Staff connects you for necessary communications. Best time to go would be between October to February. The food also is nutritious and tasty. Not to be missed.

its location is amazing and just a few meters from the Madhai safari booking counter.
The rooms have a lovely view of the Denwa River. The rooms have a huge glass wall separating the balcony from the room, which allows the guest to savor the beautiful madhai and Denwa backwater sceneries.
The room was medium-sized but quite comfortable, clean, and equipped with all required amenities like TV, AC, refrigerator, etc. The washroom was sanitized and clean. Bright lights and 24/7 hot-cold water supply was made available.
They have maintained a nice clean swimming pool facing the Denwa River.
The food was quite tasty, and they provided a selection of delicacies in their buffet. Hygiene was maintained.
The best part about my stay in this resort was its gracious hospitality. The entire staff is awsome. But I wish to specially thank Mr. Bhuvan Soni, who made my stay to be the best experience possible. Being a solo woman traveler, he ensured that my transport needs were taken care of security vise. He made sure to check on the driver who was taking me and also kept in touch with me till I reached my destination. This is exactly what I call as top-notch customer service 👏 👌 👍. Thankyou once again Bhuvan ji 🙏. I shall look forward to my stay here again future. Thankyou MPT Bison Resort 🙂

Wonderful experience, prompt service, courteous staff, Lovely gardens and excellent location ( river backwater side),but difficult approach to the resort, and average food quality; that's what summarises the resort.
Approach was very difficult especially in Oct and it rained heavily one day, if Travelling by car, I would advise to travel by SUV and not Sedan, very bumpy road. Location is very scenic and probably the best as its situated next to water body and in front of Core forest reserve across the River.
Food is of average quality but the staff is polite and courteous and helping.
Ticket counter for Safari booking is next to the resort.
Rooms are small but still manageable and they put up fresh linen every day.
