Wilderness Homestays in Himachal is an experiential retreat nestled amongst lush green mountain slopes of Jibhi valley in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. The boutique property is spread across three acres of private land which was traditionally used for farming and had only a small hut (called doghri in local language) overlooking the farm. The farm hut evolved step-by-step into a luxury accommodation which now provides all modern amenities for a comfortable stay to the travellers seeking unique experiences in the Himalayas. The original hut was transformed to an indigenous kath-kuni styled home made with mud and stones. Two luxuriously designed wooden suites Raghupur Fort Room & Balo Room are a part of this traditional home. Over the years we added another Kothi (mansion) styled structure on a little elevation which has premium wooden rooms with a blend of traditional and modern styles. Jalori Pass Room, Serolsur Room and Chehni Kothi Room are a part of this structure. The rooftop overlooking the valley from all the sides is as an open air yoga studio in the day and a cosy lounging area in the evening. Our latest addition to the land is a modern residential unit, at the highest elevation. The Iris Block is a 3bhk luxurious villa with a small kitchenette and all modern amenities required for a comfortable long stay. We also let out individual rooms as per the availability As our property is built on a spacious terraced land, all our rooms give enough privacy and unobstructed views of the valley and the Himalayas from the private balconies. The nights are almost completely silent except for the distant murmuring of the river and the water fall, which will lull you to sleep. There is a gazebo with an outdoor seating surrounded with seasonal plants and vibrant flowers. It is a common area to meet other like-minded travellers staying with us over dinner or a cup of coffee. We serve food from our in-house kitchen cooked with ingredients from our own organic garden and orchard. Wilderness Home has ample private space for car parking and WiFi in all the rooms.

Detailed Reviews
In a beautiful hamlet set against the backdrop of mighty hills, I never thought I would find a place offering an unparalleled hospitality, and most importantly, love and warmth that would make one feel absolutely at home. We had a room with the balcony offering a spectacular view of the valley, one could sit for hours here soaking in the sun. The staff is courteous and will go out of its way to help you with anything that you want, at any hour of the day. Lalit Kumar, owner of the place, is one of the best hosts one could meet. The best part is that he is the perfect person to guide you about your trekking tour, if you are planning to take one. If you are visiting Jibhi, this is the place one should be staying at!

It all started when my taxi driver Satpal and myself were discussing hidden gems in Himachal Pradesh beyond routine Kullu and Manali. I told him about my trip with friends to Parvati valley last year August 2021. While showing me the Palm trees on the other side of river Beas during our drive to Manali as we were approaching Aut Tunnel, he recommended me "Tirthan Valley".
Do look for these Palm Trees on the hilly slopes of river beas, at only this location in Himalayas during your next trip when you take Chandigarh to Manali Highway before approaching the Aut Tunnel. Aut is location from where there is one of the road connections to the Tirthan Valley.
I went to Manali, Had a great time at Hima Cottages with owner and my friend Khemchand Thakur. I brought up with Khem if he can recommend a place in Tirthan Valley where I could spend 2 / 3 days. Khem said there is a great location near village Jibhi called Wilderness Home operated by Lalit Kumar, who also provides Nature and Adventure experiences personally under the banner of Jibhi Adventure. Wilderness home can accommodate about 22-24 persons and their location is amazing. They are normally full but I got lucky since it was fag end of the tourist season and Lalitji confirmed a room for me at one days notice. I found The owner and resort are choosy about the type of guests they welcome and most of the guests come there by recommendation of the guests or to repeat their own experiences.
I enjoyed meeting Sarit from Israel as well sharing some easy nature walks lead by Lalitji to Jibhi Falls as well nearby hills.
Wilderness Home is an ideal location in Himalayas if you are looking for moderate cold due to 1600-1800 Mtrs. altitude. Peaceful place with almost no chaos. Great service and homely tasty food by Wilderness Home staff. To top it up the hospitality practiced by Lalitji with a personal touch.
Lalitji has a great background in adventure, nature, deep knowledge of flora, fauna, snakes, animals and birds. He is also practicing Yoga Master and enjoys talking about Indian philosophy.
I had a great time there though just 2 days, I will be back again soon to continue our talks about Bhagwat Gita.

Initially I was supposed to stay here for 3 days only but the kind of hospitality and homely feeling I got, i extended it for a week's time.
It's worth paying every penny. Lalit, the owner and Lata dee (who prepares food), they are absolutely amazing people.
The view, the cleanliness, all the help one needs, delicious food, you name it and you will find it here. Come and stay here for a month, still you won't feel enough of this place.
Every room has a different set up and a breathtaking view and if you are planning for work from hills, this is the place because Lalit will make sure that you have everything even when there is heavy rain conditions.
There is absolutely no negative thing to be pointed out.
I am surely coming back here for a month this time. This is a place to stay with your friends/family/as a couple. I have experience it all in a week.
Thank you Lalit for this memorable stay.
P.S: I have uploaded few pics so that you know what I said is 100% right.

Exceptional homestay run by lalit who is kind hearted man. The place has 7-8 unique rooms, well done up and very comfortable. The kitchen is like a home kitchen, serving delicious, wholesome food. There is a gazebo kind of a living room which is where all guests eat, sit around and chat. The location and views are breathtaking - right in the middle of a green valley with thick vegetation. It is an ideal place to trek, hike or to be just with yourself in solitude. You interact as much as you want to with none of the overbearing host always surrounding you. The drive from mandi to aut is a bad one with broken roads - almost 2 hours long in otherwise a comfortable 8 hours drive from kullu Airport. Wilderness Homes Jibhi is 100% recommended if you want to be one with yourself and nature and yet have access to functional and comfortable creature comforts.

I had gone for a Yoga Retreat with my Yoga Community, It was an amazing experience. We stayed for about 10days and Lalit ji and his team was an excellent host during our stay. The Location is so beautiful you wake-up every day with Mountains and River view. You're in a different world from the chaos of the City. Flow of River sound adds to Nature as a Music to your ears.
Words won't be enough, I hope you'll visit and live the experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Wilderness Home,Jibhi, run by Mr Lalit Kumar.
As soon as we stepped inside the wilderness home,it’s positive vibes relived us from all tiredness of 12 hours journey. It’s location is great. Well furnished, spacious and comfortable rooms with a good size balconies, huge mountains view on the sides of Tirthan river. This home stay is like an icing on the cake for the nature lovers. It’s your peaceful home in the mountains, away from the humdrum of the city. We loved its ambience.
Home cooked food was yummy. All staff members were extremely friendly and caring. We experienced excellent hospitality. It was really like spiritual, divine, meditating, soothing and healing bliss being at Wilderness Home.It cannot be expressed in words. This place will remain etched in my heart forever.

Stayed here for twenty days and absolutely loved every bit of it. The people are so nice and warm here they make you feel home. Lalit the host is an extraordinary person with so many stories to share, Lata di (the chef) cooks yummy finger licking food. Rishi, guided me for a couple of hikes around who is the best with what he does. And not to forget one can indulge in a variety of artistic things, I got to learn Dot painting and paper quilling from a super friendly girl Sonali.
Also, they guide you be it for day hikes, treks, camping or any other local thing to experience.
For people travelling alone this place is no less a home, you will feel loved and taken good care off. (For any animal lovers they have super adorable dogs who will share some warm cuddles and go on evening walks with you)

I had a wonderful experience at the wilderness home @ Jibhi ! I would highly recommend to stay at this place because it was not just a stay but an experience altogether! They were extremely accommodating and even allowed us to check in a little early as we happened to reach there early. As soon as we got in, they offered us to have breakfast and set up a table for us with irresistible food. Rooms are sufficiently spacious and beautiful. We were properly taken of care of throughout our stay and it never felt like we were the guests and they were the staff. Instead, it felt like we all were a family. Have to mention that the tasty home cooked food by them kept us at the best of our healths. We all would gather at the common area and have a nice chat. They also arranged a bonfire one day for all the guests as it was getting too cold. The owner of the place is super friendly and is always around for any sort of help. He also showed us around in Jibhi some uncommercialized places which were breathtaking! Altogether it was an unforgettable stay and I would like to stay here again if I ever visit Jibhi again. Big hi-5 to the owner and the staff for having us there and taking care of us!

I went to jibhi with my friend in the last week of March and had booked the sarolsar room, at first when I booked the room I felt that it is quite costly, but it is totally worth it. The staff is very helpful and kind, the food was great, the view is mind-blowing from here! The pool water was very cold due to the whether so we weren't able to enjoy in that area, but the property overall is quite big. We even asked for a bonfire and it was very easily arranged within a few minutes. Special mention to Mr Naresh, who manages everything there.
