We had nowhere to stay as our Jodhpur hotel was well below standard. We were lucky to find approx 23km fro. Jodhpur this marvellous family. You live with the family in a self-contained hut, eat what they eat and socialise with them. It is a truly marvellous and unique experience not to be missed. They offer whatever you want using their jeeps. So, by being out of town you can be taken back to see the lovely city. It is guaranteed that you will enjoy the experience.
Take a step out of Jodhpur by visiting Salawas and experiencing life with a local family of weaving artists. At night, talk and eat (delicious food) with Chhotaram and his entire family in the beautiful courtyard of their home. In the day, visit the village and learn about weaving, pottery, and the lives of the local tribes. The huts at the homestay look rustic but they have modern bathrooms, electricity, and AC! We stayed only one night and I think two would have been perfect.
We loved being part of the Prajapat family during our short stay. We really felt immersed in the atmosphere and got to learn a lot about the family way of life. Chhotaram and his wife Mamata were so welcoming and kind, along with Chhotaram's parents Pukhraj hi and Dariya & his children Khushi, Trilok and Vasudev - as well as the rest of the family! We took a lovely walk to a local sunset spot in the village with Chhotaram's brother Ashok (see pictures!). Another highlight of the trip was the beautiful henna that was drawn for me by Ashok's wife Leela, and the Rajasthani make-over! We loved the camel trek in the desert & jumping off the sand dunes (see photos) with Chhotoram! Om took us on a fantastic village safari where we met a Bishnoi family & saw pottery being made on a…
Wow! This is one of the most special stays I've ever had in any country. I felt so at home in Chhotaram and Mamata's wonderful place. It is an amazing experience to go and live for a few nights in a traditional village and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to get off the tourist trail in India and see something unique. I spent 3 days/nights here and I could have stayed a week. I'd also recommend taking the desert camel safari if you want to get into a beautiful slice of nature. Can't wait to come back here!
I will never forget my experience with this family. As soon as you eneter their place you will feel right at home. They are amazing people with very good hospitality skills. All members are fully involved to make their guests comfortable. Their jeep safari is a must try experience when you are there. Thank you for such a wonderful time and i hope to visit back soon.😊
