Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise.

Its a unique place and more of an experience than a comfort stay. Its not designed for locals and will be enjoyed by NRIs or Foreigners as it shows the local village experience of Rajasthan. If a local want to visit, they have to make sure to consider it as an experience as there are limited services in this village experience. The road to the village is very bad and its not in jodhpur, its outside jodhpur 30-40 mins drive. Once reached, you will be treated well by the host as a guest and they will treat you as a family. As an NRI who lost the touch of traditional indian village, my family enjoyed the stay. I would suggest it as 1-2 nights experience and not more.

This homestay was the highlight of my India trip, an authentic experience with a beautiful family, amazing food, and the warmest of welcomes. I especially loved how they invited me to join in during meal prep, oil lamp lighting, and even playing with the baby. Evening, overnight, and breakfast were all delightful. Learning about their hard-working community and seeing their rug-making art first-hand was so very interesting. The prices on the rugs are incredibly reasonable too, and are beautiful in my home. I purchased a room-sized one and 2 runners, which they custom made and mailed to me much sooner than I expected. This is a wonderful experience, and people I will never forget. Highly recommended!

Excellent rural experience in an Indian village with lovely hosts. Chhotaram and Mamta along with their family welcomed us into their house. We really enjoyed the village safari seeing the local wildlife, going to see local crafts being made and also eating all the delicious foods. The accommodation was the nicest we stayed in in India with lovely hot showers. We recommend adding the cooking class via Airbnb as this adds to your stay. We stayed for the 2 night package and found this to be a good amount of time to spend with the family and understand their way of life.

This homestay near Jodhpur is run by a heartwarming family, that are very welcoming. We stayed for three days and felt as if we were part of their family. The food cooked by Mamta and Leela is more than delicious and you can also get a cooking class from them and receive the recipes online after. They offer more experiences which allow you to learn more about the environment and societies around Jodhpur, such as their village tour. Chhotaram, Mamta, Leelah, Ashok and all kids, thank you all!

Our family (2 adults 3 teenagers) stayed 3 days /2 nights and we all had a great time. The accommodation is basic but everything essential is provided and we slept very well. The food was delicious. Everything natural and home made. Simple but it was amongst the best vegetarian food we had during our trip, all of us liked it (even the ones not eating spicy). Thanks to the lady of the house ! We did a safari tour that was very well handled, especially as we had a special request, During the safari were lucky to see several nilgai /blue bulls and a beautiful blackbuck. Overall it was very enjoyable, we will definitely come back if we visit India again and warmly recommend it.

This place was amazing. One of my highlights in India so far. We were welcomed at 11pm because we were so delayed when we arrived here. A warm welcome with an amazing meal was waiting. We were only supposed to stay for 1 night and ended up staying for 3! Even though we are only in India for 1 month. We took the village safari and cooking class and both were incredible. I don't want to go into too much detail, because you have to experience this for yourself. The family is warm and welcoming and the experience of getting to know their way of living and them personally is something I'll never forget. We hope to be back one day. I was traveling with my 2 sisters all from the Netherlands.

What an incredible hidden gem. After nearly 20 days of travelling across India I have to say I was exhausted. On the approach by car I really didn’t know quite what to expect. After multiple stays in cities this place was a total joy. Chhotaram and his family were so incredibly welcoming. With all the food (amazing) cooked in the traditional way I learned so much. From the walk with his son to a hill for the sunset, encounters with camels etc I really with I had been able to stay longer. With a totally deserved award for best homestay don’t miss the opportunity for the most wonderful escape outside Jodhpur.

This was an extraordinary experience getting to stay in small huts with straw covered roofs. We were welcomed by the family in a ceremony. One of the women put red berries on our forehead and tied a multicolored string on our wrist for good luck. The family has been making Durry rugs for seven hundred years passing the skills down to each generation. The women were preparing dinner when we arrived, and they invited us to participate. It was interesting to see what spices they used. Dinner was delicious and afterward everyone was invited to help distribute oil lamps in preparation for Diwali. The little hut had a comfortable bed and beautiful drawings on the walls. There was room for a chair and there was a bathroom with a shower. We were awakened at 4:30 a.m. the next morning with music, drums, and singing to offer prayers in honor of Diwali. The music stopped at 6:30 a.m. and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast. After breakfast we watched a demonstration of how the rugs are made and had an opportunity to purchase them. The family also offers jeep tours of the village to see local potters and meet members of the Bishnoi tribe.

The stay was delightful with warm hospitality. Of all our meals in India this was the best. I am a weaver and was fascinated with the family's 700 year tradition of creating durry rugs. The demonstration was wonderful.
