Overall a very peaceful and comfortable stay. Neat rooms and awesome view along with exceptional service.
This place had good breakfast and dinner. Campfire and barbecue are available as well. The place is close to a rivulet and other tourist spots are easily accessible from here.

Helpful and friendly hospitality, lovely place to relax for a few days in a peaceful and quiet location with a beautiful view. Excellent home-cooked food. Nice walking in the local coffee plantations and farming areas, some nature spots nearby.

We booked this place via Goibibo that upon sharing the booking details also shares the contact number n directions for the convenience of the traveller.
My friend and I were on our way from Wayand via a road journey throughout the journey we followed directions provided by Goibibo we also tried calling on the number provided on the booking receipt which was constantly not reachable. Only once we reached the destination around 6pm and realised the address provided is not accurate we called Goibibo hotline and they connected us to the owner (Namratha) who asked me my number to share the directions. She seemed surprised to learn that we are on our way and said usually people either call a couple of days before to confirm or don't turn up so we weren't expecting you. Her number also was not the same as shared by Goibibo.
It was a complete disaster, in midst of all this we learnt that approx. 10 km before the resort there is no network connectivity hence we should save the direction on offline maps because there is no other way we can make it.
It was past 7pm by the time we concluded all our conversations and proceeded towards the resort approx. 10 mins later the owner whatsapps me informing, as she had assumed that we will not turn up she had given the super deluxe to someone else and only has standard room available. Just when we noted this my friend who was already skeptical to travel all the way to the outskirts of Madikeri without network adamantly asked the driver to head back to the city where we started our hunt for a decent accommodation. While my friend and I were busy looking for a room the owner was constantly calling and messaging to check if we will be coming I purposely avoided responding as I wanted to be sure of our situation, the owner had the audacity to highlight a no show for my booking on Goibibo.
Going by the reviews by other guests the place appears to be a bliss and that's the reason I also booked it but be vary of the following :
1. No network
2. 20kms outside the city away from all key sightseeing points
3. Reach early during the day to avoid confusion
4. Call the owner before hand and inform else you may be in a soup (check the pic added by me for the owners number)
I really wish I could have added to the brilliant reviews listed here but to my despair it wasn't the case

After a tedious drive of almost 300 km from Kempegowda Airport to the resort, thanks to a very brisk, unsettling sleep before the early morning flight and a wrong turn, we kept saying to one another with vexed expressions – “this place had better be good for all that we’ve endured”. Add to that a much used up rental car for our ride (121000 km on the odometer) and an erratic network-induced GPS ‘non-support,’ and we were literally at our wit’s end.
Fast forward that, and we ended up staying for three nights (end of Feb) instead of our pre-planned two at the River Edge Valley. It was THAT therapeutic for our poor minds. The first night under a festival of stars splashed across a clear sky was more potent than the two hours of shut-eye we had right after we arrived. Enter dry pandi curry (Coorgi pork delicacy) to go with our “tonic” while the flames crackled on a bonfire pit next to us, and it was nothing short of sheer poetry (especially after you escape the frills of city life). Early next morning we woke up to fog, frenzied but melodic chirpings of songbirds and, paradoxically, a euphoric sense of calm. Breakfast was typical Kodava, as Bopanna (Vikas’s Man Friday) described every item with detail, even explaining how they were made. The best part was the filter coffee, brewed from beans from their own plantation, and boy was it gooooood. The next two days were pretty much sightseeing during the day and relaxing in the evenings. The plantation itself makes for a nice trek in the morning.
River Edge is about 20 km from Suntikoppa (nearest market/town) and 21 km from Madikeri, which means it’s at least 30 min to the nearest fuel station and a major marketplace. You need to bring in your own ride if you wish to stay here. An SUV would be a smarter option as we found out later. The drive from Hattihole bus stand (about 7 km away) to the resort will take you through colossal trees, some really beautiful cottages and lots of pepper plants. You will absolutely love this scenic drive.
Vikas, an unmistakable automobile fanboy, runs the show here and he does a fine job out of it. There are six cottages spread over four stepped levels, with coffee and pepper flanking the massive 72 acre property. Don’t expect regular signage to the resort right after taking the turn from Hattihole. BSNL is pretty much the only network that runs here, so get your directions ready, which Vikas would be only too happy to provide. He directed us to the resort when our networks conked out and rushed in to meet us as soon as he arrived…with Bopanna close on the heels, carrying coffee and banana pakodas. Hell, he even led us to his friendly mechanic in Madikeri when our car’s exhaust pipe broke in half and drove down to this semi-deserted road when we had a flat tire late in the evening. Special mention for Maxi (if I haven’t got his name wrong), the estate owner of Valley View who drove me around in his 4x4 looking for the right spanner to remove our tyre screws. It was right then, during the moment that should have been one of utter hopelessness, that I felt strangely relaxed and safe. And I realized it wasn’t just the unsoiled nature that was beautiful, but the warmth of the people too, an amazing and rare nexus playing out here between man and nature.
Vikas swears by the incredibility of monsoon here, which he says is best enjoyed with brandy and pork while perched on the balcony overlooking the mountains, and I’m totally sold on the idea. So, here’s wishing we can make it again, this monsoon or the next. Thanks for a wonderful time Vikas.

I visited this place with my mom during the first week of Feb. We stayed here for 2 nights. It is located a few kms away from Madikeri city, nestled in the deep echelons of the green and dense forests. The access roads are a bit tricky. Do ensure to speak to the owner, Vikas before reaching there. The layout concept is good, there are 4 cottages lying on different altitudes, in a kind of stepped pattern. So that gives you privacy even though there are other folks. The rooms are made from stones and wood which adds a raw touch. The support staff is a small family which is always available for anything. Food is Coorgi style but you can place your own requests too. Breakfast and dinner were complimentary and tasted good. You can ask for tea and coffee anytime. We also ordered for evening snacks on both days. Hot water is also available. We took a walk around the surrounding estates, densely populated with coffee, cardamom and cinnamon plantations. There is a small stream nearby, just 5 mins walk from the place. We had our private bonfires during the evenings. It was an amazing experience to be out in the open and look at the super-starry sky in the darkness. The place is very silent all the time except for the chirping of the birds and the whistling of the winds. Views from the balconies are amazing. I didn't even feel like stepping out for sight-seeing. The only issue is that you would be totally out of network, save for BSNL. But we were provided with BSNL cellphone in case we wanted to make any calls.
Do not expect very efficient service as the place is still new and the owners are not looking upto this as a commercial venture. However be assured that the staff is caring and sincere.
I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend some time totally cut-off from civilization and looking to de-stress amidst nature.

The hosts were super duper helpful. We were a group of girls who had a fantastic time. The view is amazing to wake up to. Vishal and the family who looked after keeping our tummies hunger free did an excellent job. We loved the food. The Villas were economical and worked out good for a bunch of people. We had an amazing time at the waterfalls where Vishal drove us too and dropped us back, whilst patiently waiting until we had enough. Thank You.
This place is a must visit. It has heart and soul and it's just too beautiful.

This place has a touch of class about it. Nestled in wonderful countryside, thick forests and rolling hills, it is an ideal place to chill out! Great food cooked by local family, comfortable clean accommodation and wonderful views make it worth the effort to get there. Evening fire is a nice added touch.
