A lovely friendly welcome into a beautifully presented home. The room we had was roomy and warm, and had everything we needed, including good wifi. Bed was so comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was a choice of continental or Irish, and both were plentiful and tasty. We got a great recommendation for our evening meal at...

We stayed at the Avondale as a family. Every effort was made to make us welcome and our stay comfortable. We would recommend this B&B for the friendly atmosphere and warm hospitality. The location is easy to find and close to the major towns in the area.

Had a wedding in the area and stayed the night before. Was the perfect stay. Walked to the village for couple of pints and came back to a lovely warm room. Lovely breakfast set us up for the day ahead and owner had no problem letting us stay on until wedding time. Oh and dropped me back to the village...

Highly recommended as a charming and clean place to stay. My father and I visited Avondale as a base for our fishing adventures on the nearby river Shannon, and Carmel the owner was most helpful and accommodating with the necessary fishing gear for us, even allowing us a secure area for storing the boat! Excellent accommodation and very friendly and...

Upon arrival Carmel welcomed us as if we were long awaited friends. I noticed immediately that the house is extremely clean. One can smell the freshness of clean sheets, towels, carpets. The bathroom was very clean, hot water - as much as you need and whitest and softest towels ever. The bed was comfortable and big for two of us....

We stayed one night at Avondale House. Carmel welcomed us into her home like we were old friends, and we felt instantly comfortable. Our room was large, clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities and an ensuite bathroom. Carmel was very helpful in suggesting things to do and places to eat, and prepared us a lovely full Irish...

We stayed one night at this B&B in the village of Rooskey, near the Shannon and the many lakes of Roscommon. Carmel keeps a clean, welcoming Inn, with a tasty full Irish breakfast. This would be an ideal base for someone wanting to see the Irish countryside and do some fishing or boating.

We stayed two nights at Avondale House. Our room was large and clean, the beds were fairly comfortable, and the owner was very solicitous about taking care of us. She helped us carry our luggage, prepared a special and delicious breakfast for us (because we don't eat meat), advised us about food and directions to local sites, and generally made...
