Ambajogai or Ambejogai is an important place of pilgrimage in District Beed of Maharashtra State in India. It is the seat of Goddess Yogeshwari or Yogeshwari Devi, which is worshipped as family deity in many Koknastha Bramhin Cast of Maharashtra. Even otherwise, people in general worship this goddess & hence it is important place of worship on Dushara Day in October every year. The place is accessible by excellent road from all sides in Maharashtra. The nearest biggest town is Latur, which is about 50km. The railway connection is also available from Latur. the nearest airport is Aurangabad, which is 232km & next nearest airport is Pune, which is 320km. I visited the Temple of Ambejogai on 8th March by traveling by road from Pune. I started at 5am from Pune & reached the Temple at 1130am, after spending about 30min on the way for breakfast & tea. Since it was not a special season, the temple was not crowded. I finished Darshan (i.e. pilgrimage) quite fast, which otherwise can take an hour. Next I turned to the nearby Bhakta Niwas, which is just across from the temple at about 5 minutes walking distance. The facility has ample free parking for the residents. The facility has 21 rooms, out of which few are AC. Every room is equipped with attached toilet, which are modern with commodes & 24hr hot water. The rooms are well ventilated, very clean, with double beds. The non-AC rooms are equipped with Desert Coolers & fans. The rooms do not have wifi facility. There are 3 floors & the lift facility is available. So elderly people & physically challenged people can have good access. AC room charges are Rs.1300/day (i.e. about USD20/-). There are 6 beds dormitories are also available for a group or a family, with attached bathrooms. The restaurant is on the ground floor, which offers tea, snacks for breakfast as well as lunch & dinner, which are charged separate. The room charges are no inclusive of meal charges & separate contractor manages the pantry & restaurant. The lunch was really very tasty & worth the value for money paid. The famous Maharashtrian sweet dish Puran Poli was available. The other items in the thali were also very tasty. Overall, the temple visit pilgrimage & stay at Bhakta Niwas was very comfortable & was a value for the money. Regards,
