The Old Store Guest House comes highly recommended for its exceptional service, with guests consistently noting the heartfelt welcome and attentive care they receive. The charm of the guest house is echoed in its spotlessly clean rooms, which are both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, complete with modern en-suite facilities. While the location is ideal for exploring local sites, the cozy atmosphere invites guests to relax and enjoy the premises. While some may find the pricing steep during peak events, many agree that the overall value, including the praised hearty breakfast, is worth it.

We stayed for 3 nights in a twin room. Hosts Matt and Amy were very friendly and made us feel at home in this lovely little guest house. We were welcomed with tea and cake on our arrival, which was also available every afternoon on return from a day's sightseeing. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the room was very comfortable. Tea/coffee and biscuits in the room were replenished daily and the plentiful toiletries in the bathroom were of good quality. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot dishes that were well cooked. The location was ideal for visiting Chichester and surrounding areas and there were several pub/restaurants within a very short drive. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area.

We had a night here last week and although it was a short stay, we had a brilliant experience. On arrival, Matt, who was very welcoming gave us a pot of tea and home made carrot cake in the garden.
Our room (7) was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotlessly clean and very contemporary. We had plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate. The milk was in a chilly flask and the drinking water was in a glass bottle. The absence of plastic was very obvious. The shampoo and conditioner were in refillable dispensers, and made locally.. again, no plastic.
I had perfectly poached eggs with salmon for breakfast and my husband had the full English which was lovely. Also on offer was yoghurt, stawberries, blueberries, apricots as well as the usual cereal, toast etc. We really can't fault this place... Matt and Amy were splendid hosts - they were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for 4 days and from arrival to leaving our stay was perfect an Matt and Amy are delightful. There is nothing to fault, rooms are a good size and so are the bathrooms which was a surprise. The showers are a good size and the water pressure excellent so always good showers.
All the cooked breakfasts are lovely and set you up for the day. There are small bottles of milk in the fridge for each room so you always have fresh milk in you tea and coffee in your room. Matt and Amy leave fruit out all day for you to help yourself to and in the afternoon there is some sliced cake, what a lovely touch.
There is absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay, I would highly recommend.

I found this by accident and haven’t looked back since!! This young couple/family owned B&B is lovely, bright and welcoming!
On arrival we were greeted with rooms keys, full information on B&B and surrounding area, plus offered tea and cake!
The rooms and whole building is light bright and airy and despite being situated on an A-road junction, has triple-glazing which all but eliminates any road noise.
Dinner at the Anglesey Arms (pre book) is a must and there was a choice of breakfast at the B&B which was all freshly cooked to order.
Matt & Amy we’re very accommodating in not only doing breakfast earlier for us, but also letting me park there throughout the day.
I really can’t recommend this enough, but almost don’t want to, as I don’t want others using it and not being able to get in myself!!!!!

We were part of a family group attending a party at the nearby Tinwoode vineyard, which had been rearranged three times due to COVID. Matt (and Amy) had been endlessly accommodating each time we had to cancel and rearrange so it was a relief to finally get there.
Couldn’t have been a better location, easy to find and we were met by a very warm welcome and offers of tea, cake and an ironing board.
Our room ( cosy double) was immaculate and the bed was comfortable.
Despite being at the front of the house there was very little road noise.
The breakfast menu was great, and when we got to it, delicious
We’d certainly stay again if in the area and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others
A gem at a very reasonable price.

Amy and Matt were excellent hosts, very informative and helpful. The accommodation was clean and pleasant. The breakfast was prepared with thought to our particular needs (Gluten-free). There are only 2 suggestions: better WiFi signal in the bedroom (room 3) and a more efficient and quieter fan to use in hot weather. All and all, a highly recommended B&B!

Very friendly and accommodating hosts! We stayed with our 8-month-old child and felt very well looked after. The room was very clean and tastefully furnished. The communal area was accessible throughout the day and had tea, fruits and cake available, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was superb every morning! The only downside is the location by a busy crossroads, which makes it not ideal for setting off to explore by foot (we could not hear the cars from our room though).

Although the sole reason for our stay was to attend a funeral in the local area, Amy and Matt couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Great hospitality and communication throughout the whole of our stay and all the facilities were very good. The bedroom and dining area were both very clean and it's clear a lot of effort has gone into making the guest house COVID secure. Breakfast was delicious. The room was very peaceful and quiet both day and night and is a 5 minute drive away from Chichester.

Thank you Amy and Matt for your hospitality during this difficult time.

Lovely relaxing place to stay, we were a family party of 6 plus a toddler attending a wedding in Boxgrove. Great location for the wedding, the hosts, Matt & Amy were ever so helpful with everything including suggesting the pub which was walking distance away which was excellent. The rooms would not have looked out of place in an upmarket boutique hotel and were decorated in a simple but elegantly relaxing style. Breakfast was great and Matt & Any couldn’t have been more helpful and have created a lovely ambiance atThe Old Store.

We had an extremely happy stay. Our hosts were really helpful and welcoming. It was in a very convenient location with direct bus to Chichester town centre. Super delicious breakfast, generous portions and variety of food, very well organised (we order the night before what we like to eat), we all had a sumptuous breakfast (and caters to my gluten free and dairy free requirements). Finally, we love the special personal touch with the sitting area and especially the breakfast room where guests can access throughout the day and make a cuppa to go with their home made cake and/or selection of fruit! Will definitely visit again!

Do you offer twin bedded rooms ?
Answer from heatherb
Chichester, West Sussex11 contributions8 helpful votes
Hello Liz, yes, we have three twin bedded rooms. Two are on the second floor with views over the fields to Chichester, and the third is on the ground floor. This room is suitable for guests with limited mobility, as it has grab rails and a seat in the large shower. However, it does have one step between the bedroom and the shower room, so it is not suitable for a wheelchair user.

Hi Raymond, all of our rooms have ensuite shower rooms. Our standard double room has a more compact shower room, all the other rooms have good sized shower rooms; all of them are recently fitted out with good quality fittings.
