We loved our stay here. Our room was well appointed and excellent hot shower.
Food was fabulous and the gentlemen in the gift shop was very helpful and his wares very reasonably priced.
Make sure you see the horses (they are stabled around 6pm) and give Duke the daschund a big pat.

Words cannot describe the bliss full stay at the Roop Niwas Kothi in Nawalgarh, Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Thank you to Ms Jogeshwari Singh and her father , my family enjoyed the visit to Roop Niwas Kothi. Staying at the luxury room, enjoying the delicious delectable cuisine, what appealed to us was that this is a hotel beyond the lobby with so many activities in and around the heritage property. The morning started with an exhilarating walk to the farms owned by the family nearby, picking of vegetables and meeting with the workers on the farm. Late afternoon we had a jeep ride to the other farm through the villages tracks was exciting and ending the day tea/coffee served with sandwiches and local samosas at sunset and the highlight of the stay was watching the spectacle of horses galloping into their stables in the evening was indeed a sight to behold. If travelling to Nawalgarh, stay at the Roop Niwas Kothi and do not miss the spectacle of visiting the Horse stable when the horses return to their stable.

Beautiful Horses, variety of seasons vegetables in farm, very spacious comfortable rooms, delicious food, warm hospitality, well kept heritage and best sites to visit are within walking distance....this made our short holiday very experiential and memorable. There are more experiences to do and ideally a 2 nights stay will be good.

Our experience of staying here was excellent. Staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. It was mid September so the evenings were getting colder but as soon as we arrived at the bar, a fire was lit enabling us to sit outside. The food was plentiful and excellent and the room very comfortable. We would recommend this place.

Roop Niwas Kothi is uniquely positioned for its royal family members inolvement (giving sense of history to travellers), heritage character of stay, experiential offerings, lots of space. less-touristy and more authentic character of Nalwalgarh as a whole.

What was an eye opener was that Mandawa Havelis are poor cousins of ones at Nawalgarh, which are most impressive. Even the market was buzzing and a walking around was an experience. So for heritage and experiential travellers Nawalgarh is a must stay.

Rooms at Roop niwas Kothi are large, well maintained and some are even newly renovated. The two bedroom with a hall in between with a TV is nice as we were able to see the cricket match in evening.

Meals and services were good and meal prices are reasonable (Was expecting to be higher). Because of the large spread of the area, overall experience here is very relaxing (while being very close to the nawalgarh old city and town centre)

The horses when they are freed in evening, the few minutes spent around them was a unique experience.

All in all it was a weekend well spent and definitely memorable one !!

We visited Nawalgarh as part of offbeat family road trip and stayed at Roop Niwas Kothi for 2 days . It is a oasis among desert . Rooms , beds and Shower all are top notch .

What sets this property apart is the hospitality of the owner and the staff . The feeling will be as if you are visiting some Royal friends of yours who will go all out to make Tuttle holiday a memorable one .

Another unique aspect is in-house stables with 55 horses and an organic farm and dairy attached .

Kudos to Surinder and the caretakers ( Jeetu and all ) who went out of their way to treat us like royalty.

We stayed at this hotel during a motorcycle tour of Rajasthan in February 2024. What a wonderful experience our stay was, too!

After a hard day’s riding from Jaipur, entry through the grand gate (past the historic cannons on either side) onto the circular drive of this expansive, heritage country house (including stables!) ushered we tired travellers into a warm and peaceful welcome from a more genteel and noble time!

Everything about this hotel is marvellous. The old-world charm of the guest rooms (in separate guesthouses from the main house) to the excellent restaurant, the meticulously manicured grounds (including peacocks) and the fabulous stables housing their 60 beautiful Marwari horses. Love their curled ears!

Special highlights were the tour the head farrier gave us through the riding/breeding stables and dairy, and watching the riding horses gallop back to their own night stalls from their day pastures. Truly brilliant!

If you are visiting Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region, perhaps looking to take in the gorgeously frescoed havelis of Nawalgarh town, seeking a unique horse-riding experience, or maybe just after a bit of elegance and allure from days of yore, you cannot do better than to stay at this beautiful heritage hotel.

Roop Niwas Kothi is owned and managed by the royals of Nawalgarh. They are passionate about the resort and it shows in how it is appointed and how the staff behaves. They have 45 fine Marwari horses in the stable and a farm nearby. The food and service is great. The rooms are big and have a 'bunglow' charm. It is a great getaway of 1-2 nights from Delhi.

This was one of several times I have stayed at this wonderful place with my motorcycle groups. It's an oasis of calm and comfort in this region on the edge of the Thar desert in the Shekhawati. A stop here on our Rajasthan tours is always appreciated by everyone in our groups. Accommodation is fantastic, food is delicious. You will get an authentic experience of staying in a heritage property with all modern comforts. The stables with the marwari horses is a bonus treat. The swimming pool is inviting on the hot days. Highly recommended if you're looking for a place to stay in the area.

Hi! I am of Indian descent as well although I have lived in Canad for the past 40 years. I have been riding since I was a teenager in India and, as a polo player and an endurance rider, I am fairly experienced. The two Roop Niwas rides I have been on (each about 12 days) are better suited to experienced riders. Having said that, Devendra and Durga organize shorter and more sedate rides as well and I understand that riding lessons and day rides using Roop Niwas as a base can be arranged. I am not sure what they would charge for them. My most recent ride with Royal Riding Holidays was from Nawalgarh to the Pushkar fair. The cost was InRs 1,80,000. This included just about everything including accommodation at Roop Niwas and at tent hotels in Pushkar, all meals and, of course, the horses, gear and tent accommodation during the ride. It was a wonderful trip with two days with local rides (to get used to the horses) at Nawalgarh, 8 days on the trail and 2 days riding around the Pushkar fair. There were seven riders (one couple, the rest were singals - two men three women, 4 nationalities) and we all had an amazingly good time. Devendra and Durga are very experienced and the hospitality and food were excellent. The daily rides began at about 7. We stopped for lunch and a siesta at about noon and then rode for another 4-5 hours to camp. The pace varied from walking to gallops. I highly recommend Roop Niwas and their riding safaris. You can get more information about the rides from their web site. I would be delighted to answer any other questions you may have. Best wishes, Vikram
