Initially booked for two nights and ended up staying five nights. The location is excellent. We had an upper room overlooking the pool and garden and only a minutes walk to the beach. The rooms are self contained with cooking facilities etc, so no daily room service unless you wanted to pay extra, it suited us just fine. Across the...

We left it to the last minute to book anything over the new year period and I always liked the cabarita beach area and the hideaway was the only place available for 5 nights. Very pricey but at this time of year that is not unexpected. The room is motel style with a basic kitchenette with fridge and microwave. No...

Ok place to stay nothing to rave about for a beachside motel, was a bit small with a kitchenette jambed in there, rates a bit steep for a midweek stay in September. Close to everything with a easy walk to resturants and shops.

The weather was perfect and we were looking for a few days at the beach in peak holiday time! This motel came up on "Wot if" , we knew it and we made a last minute booking online. Our expectations were not high but we were keen to stay in the Bogangar/ Hastings Point area for nostalgic reasons. We appreciate...

I stayed here for one night whilst staying in the area for business reasons - I selected the Hideaway because of it's proximity to the main street, beach, and restaurant/take-away food venues. The mid-week rate for 1 night was $130 (August 2011), which I thought was a little over-priced, especially as there is a sign in the kitchen that indicates...

this could be a great hotel but the managers in this place are horrible, rude people who tried their best to spoil our break. No scooters, no noise, no visitors, no fun. If they don't want children, 2 well behaved girls, then they should not accept family bookings. I know of another family with a disabled son who were also...

We arrived at The Hideaway hoping to have a relaxing beach holiday with our children. Enquiries about the rude man comment made a year or so ago revealed that he had been sacked. We had a great time. The location is excellent because it is right on the beach and no roads to cross, and only 100m from surf life...

“Great to sleep with the sound of the waves hitting the beach. All rooms upper and lower face the garden and the pool with bottom rooms having patio doors to the garden and pool upper having a balcony with table and chairs”

“A ground level room that opens onto the garden and has easier access to BBQ and large tables would probably be a better choice. The disadvantage though could be a noisy teenage skateboarder rattling up and down the pathway outside your room as we did observe at one stage .”
