This is very far from main lake. The rooms are super dirty bathroom was very dirty Water taps were leaking from everywhere. No hot water. No room service. Even bed tea also u have to go to their restaurant and take. Hot water comes only in the morning from 6 to 8. Food was ok ok. Avoid booking this place. They need full renovation of their property
We were in Nubra for 2 nights and during dinner had heard some bad stories (regarding accomodations and cold) from people coming from Pangong. Thoe stories naturally scared us. But we realized those were from tented accomodations that cost about 3-4k per night. We told ourselves - this hopefully won't be the case with us as we've booked Pangong Sarai which cost us 8.5K and was selected after a lot of research. Thank God that we chose Pangong Sarai. The property is cute - the tents there are much better than what we saw in other places around Pangong. They are heated, the bathrooms are clean and beds are cosy. The staff is simply superb! EVery person is so warm and helpful. During checkin - I asked if they needed my IDs and whether I should enter my details somewhere. The gentleman at reception said - "Sir - go to your rooms first, freshen up and relax, come to the dining area to have tea. Checkin formalities can be completed later" The attitude of the staff was so heartening in a place where there's no network and is cold and windy in the evenings. The food served was tasty and was done with love. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who's visiting Pangong. Its about 15 mins from the main commercial spot and the lake is just a 10 min walk away, though you get the views from the campus itself. A big thank you to the staff for their warmth and hospitality. Btw, I stayed with my family from 23rd May to 24th May. Now a complaint - A few days later, I tried to call the owner Jigmet twice to thank him and share my experience. My call wasn't picked up and neither was there a return call. I view this negatively - WHAT IF I WAS TRYING TO RAISE A COMPLAINT OR LOOKING FOR HELP? ISN'T IT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY MR SINGGAY TO CALL BACK A CUSTOMER WHO'S TRYING TO REACH YOU? (it was not related to my stay so I haven't deducted any points for this). WE ARE ALL BUSY WITH WORK, BUT ISN'T TALKING TO CUSTOMERS A PART OF YOUR BUSINESS? ANYWAYS, other than this post stay experience, my experience has been super positive and I might consider other properties by the same group - Ladakh Sarai at Leh and Nubra Sarai. Congrats Mr. Singgay for maintaining such a wonderful property at such a remote location.…
Terrible & rude Manager Mr.Justin. Had a confirmed & pre-paid booking for front level tents with lake view. But this Justin gave us last tents in back row & rudely stated "take it or leave it - see the mountain view" . So we were staring at solar panels of front tents instead of the promised lke view. Shame since other staff is very good and helpful & Govindji - restaurant is most helpful managing good food in such a hostile terrain. Sarai chain is ruining their reputation with such arrogant and rude managers like Justin.
As a part of Sarai hotel chain, they can do much better than what’s there today. We had set low expectations anyway in terms of accommodation in tents - as this is a remote place . I think the tents are not bad - as they have basic things covered - comfortable bed and linen, attached bath etc. Definitely the quality of food can be improved. It has nothing to do with remoteness - as we got much better food quality at other remote places in Ladakh. What you need is a basic food hygiene.
We stayed for 1 night in mid Sep at Panging Sarai. The place is in Mann which is farthest away from start of the lake but the views are the same from any of the 3 places where accommodations are put up. There are not many other accommodations in Mann other than Sarai. This place is right on the lake and presents a great view and its just a 200-300 mt walk right up to the breathtaking lake. Pros:- 1. Pangong is just out of the world and has to be visited 2. The location is good and presents great access to the lake 3. Service and food is good as we found across the Sarai hotels 4. They keep emergency oxygen cylinders in case guests need them. During our stay we had a group of 50+ age grp from Bangalore and they called for these. 5. Hot water bottles and extra blankets are also provided Cons:- 1. Pangong can get really cold and yurts cant keep away all the cold. We were warm thanks to the Yurts and layers of warm clothing and extra blankets. All in all we had a good stay. They ran short of hot water bottles and blankets which sucked but we had a comfortable stay. The low oxygen levels in Pangong can be a challenge and we struggled with headache during the stay.…
Positive points Good, neat and clean Tent with attached toilet. Beds and linens are neat and clean Lake facing tents Good food Courteous staff Bonfire on request. Negative points Some tent has very bad stench from bathroom which can not be removed. No room service even bed tea is not given in tent/room. No running hot water in tents Except Lake no other activity in and around. No mobile network and wifi. No electricity. Source of power is Solar System. Sleep may be problem due to high altitude.
Luxurious Mongolian Style tent with awesome food and Great hospitality. Nearest camp from Pangong Lake, approximate 150 m. A quiet and a great place away from the world. Pangong Sarai Camps is about 8 km from the site of the main camp area, an exciting journey with the touch of the banks of the Pangong Lake.
On 18 June 2019, I made the booking of 8 twin sharing Tents at Pangong Sarai through a person called Norboo by paying the deposit. I brought a big group of 16 pax to stay at this property. Upon reaching the place on 14 August 2019, the person in-charge gave us the last row of Tents. He said we booked last minute. It looks like the Person whom I booked the tents with did not communicate with them properly. All tents got flooded. All the beds were together. I have to make request to separate the beds into two, ask them to wipe the floor. Basically, the toilet stinked. Dinner was ok, but Breakfast was too simple with limited choice. At night, it was cold and windy. Again, I have to request for the hot water bag for each of us. It did not help much. The next morning, they did not send us any bucket of hot water as promised previous day. What a service! The surrounding is beautiful! However if we did not feel comfortable with the accommodation and have enough food, we would not have the mood to enjoy the scenery. The rooms are overpriced with such a bad service !…
Most scenic vantage point in ladakh pangong valley. just ahead of snow clapped mountains and next to pangong lake. nice facilities and good food. mot staff is proficient in indian food and lot of foreigners also prefer this place. very hospitable crew and all facilities in such tourist places are available.
The road to the hotel is very bad but scenic the campsite is in village Mann (48kms from the Indo-China border ) . Hotel water available in the morning on request . There is a govt. run medical dispensary nearby . The tents are small and rather not well furnished . Staff understood our woes regarding the infrastructure. They said the amenities were in place but the villagers didn’t allow the smooth running of the campsite ⛺️. The food is good regarding the available resources. Overall a decent stay. NO WiFi
