Had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Bruce arms with the family. The food was amazing and plenty of it too, cooked fresh for us by the young chef Lee who did a cracking job and his wife who was front of house was very helpful and only to happy to advise on the wide selection of beers on offer...

There was a group of about 15 of us who went for a leaving meal. As the Bruce Arms was an easy location and recently reopened we thought we would give this a go. The new management are a lovely young couple who have excellent restaurant experience. The food and service was amazing even for a party of our size...

We were looking for some accommodation in the area at the last minute. I came across The Bull Inn but they were full and gave me the number for The Bruce Arms. Luckily they had a room available. We arrived 2 hours before check in time as we were headed to a family wedding. Our plan was to get changed...

At very short notice Hugh very kindly offered to host my 50th birthday party after I had been let down at the last minute. He came up with a very varied menu suitable for vegetarian and gluten free. The food was very good and nicely presented. Nothing was too much trouble and the 3 courses were well timed in there...

We have visited the Bruce Arms several times and the food served has always been very good indeed. We chose it as a venue for a family party and were thrilled with the success of the evening. Great attention to detail by the 'front of house', waiters well briefed and helpful and of course the food was lovely cooked by...

We had a pleasant over night stay at The Bruce Arms following a sociable evening with friends. The hotel/pub/restaurant is under new management and she is keen to improve the reputation & quality. A few things do need ironing out but our general impression was a comfortable atmosphere, good bedrooms, food was ok & staff very friendly. Excellent location for...

Friends had said it was poor but we were nearby and gave it a go. The staff were friendly but disorganized. Our food was generally poor and took ages to arrive - although they weren't busy. Almost all our unexpectedly still shell-on prawns were covered in roe - not nice. We mentioned this but the waiter didn't seem sufficiently well...

We had dinner at the Bruce Arms and were slightly disappointed particularly after reading some of the reviews. The decor is great but the meal was only average. We had starters which were good but my wife had a fillet steak and I had veal as our main courses. In both cases the meat was cool and the chips were...

Had one of our best pub meals ever here. The food is all home cooked and they were even willing to produce dishes that were not on the menu. The lunch menu was interesting with a daily specials board. We both had the 'regular cheeseburger' rather than the 'ultimate burger'. Didn't see the latter but ours were wonderful - huge...

What a wonderful event the Bruce Arms put together for Le Grand Depart. The marquee completely covered the car park making space for up to 100 diners to eat in comfort. The oyster and champagne bar attached was a great draw on the day as well. Our lunch was a relaxed affair, with four courses over the afternoon. A Royal...
