After 24 hours of travelling from the UK, we arrived exhausted but were made to feel extremely special by the wonderfully attentive (and funny) staff, immediately relaxing. The food was authentic, wholesome and delicious, the pool was super chilled and our room ( El Cafetal) was one the best room we stayed in all trip. They made a real fuss...

The grounds of Finca Rosa Blanca are stunning. The villas are very beautiful and quaint. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Best sleep we got in all of CR! The best part about FRB-the food!! Best meals we got in all of CR, also! So fresh and delicious! The pool was clean and had a gorgeous view of San...

Stayed here after an adventure portion of our trip and found it to be a great relaxation spot. Sprawling pool with amazing views of the valley and our room had a good sized patio to unwind at. The rooms (at least the one we stayed in) are all offshoots from a gorgeous atrium-like structure with a fountain and a fireplace...

Dear Dave, were so glad that you were able to relax by the pool and to unwind in your private patio. The atrium is not only built to allow the interior plants and trees to grow, but also to illuminate the area with natural sunlight (which also reduces our energy use). Although the days here are very warm and great...

First hotel in a Costa Rica tour and just totally relaxation. After arriving from the airport after a crazy 2hr wait at immigration, we were instantly transported into relaxation ! Rooms are very well appointed (albeit a little quirky in a positive way !), and the views are fantastic. The whole site of the hotel area is full of wonderful...

Dear Gman, Were so glad you got to take the time to really relax here at Finca Rosa Blanca. Were also very pleased that you enjoyed the restaurant, El Tigre Vestido, and had a chance to sample some of our greenhouse to table fare which is part of our commitment to healthy and delicious menus offered to our guests culinary...

Upon arriving at this historic coffee plantation we were blown away by the incredible architectural beauty. The hotel buildings and rooms are stunning and unique, a combination of Barcelona's Gaudi and southwest styles. This was our first stop on a bird-watching, hiking tour of Costa Rica and we knew we had arrived the first morning at the hotel's restaurant breakfast...

Dear Ernie, we're so pleased that you appreciated the quirky architecture and the sense of place that we try to share with all of our guests. Indeed we were influenced a great deal by many architectural styles, but in particular got the, Santa Fe and of course the classic Costa Rican rural architecture that is so simple yet beautiful. We...

We flew to San Jose as the starting-off point for a National Geographic tour. We wanted to arrive a few days before the tour started, so for those first few nights, stayed downtown at hotel in the city itself, which turned out to be largely uninteresting. (Except for the Jade Museum, which was worth a visit.) Then we checked into...

We began our 10-day trip to Costa Rica at this absolutely lovely property located about 20 minutes from the airport. We were greeted in a bit of a downpour by Adrian who ushered us with umbrellas into the main reception area and offered all four of us fresh mango juice while he prepared to take us to our room in...

Started our trip here and possibly could have had an extra day. The view from the house was exceptional overlooking the valley and mountains in the background. Room was wonderfully quaint and I believe each one is slightly different.

Dear Keith Thanks for writing. You're absolutely right that every room is different when we were building the hotel, it was our family house and we wanted every single bedroom to have a uniquely cozy, comfortable and artistic ambience. And regarding their views, this was the main reason we originally bought the property, in 1985, as it was situated on...

FRB is an ideal place to begin a CR visit. Close to the airport yet far enough from San Jose to feel like it's in the country. Staff were friendly and helpful, and hacienda/ranchito we stayed in was funky cool, clean and very comfortable. Food was excellent although service somewhat slow. The tours were somewhat pricey but we really enjoyed...
