Lovely location, would have been perfectly serene if somewhat lacking in peace and quiet but that was due to a lot of guest's children running around unsupervised and screaming madly. Garmin sat nav took us right to the door. Spacious comfortable room with aircon unit and a spa bath which was needed for such a hot night. One let down...

We stayed here on a stop over from South of France on the way home to UK. We arrived slightly earlier than planned but the host welcomed us (with a parrot on her shoulder!) and showed us the communal area, let us use the glorious pool and called us when our room was ready. La Gaucherie is in the most...

Aurelia looked after us (a young family of four) so well on our way to the South of France this month that we begged her to have us back 10x days later on our return home. Her home is exquisite; the animals and swimming pool blew our children's minds; and the effortless ease that Aurelia hosts with makes this somewhere...

We stayed for 2 nights. A great choice. We had a prestige room with en suite bathroom. Aurelia is a terrific host and a great cook! Breakfasts and dinners eaten in the garden surrounded by hens, chickens, dogs, cats and a parrot were delightful. An excellent base to visit the châteaux of the Loire and to kick off our holiday.

Delightful, tranquil very rural setting and perfectly placed for overnight stop heading north or south. Use Google maps and you get right to the front door! Rooms arranged in two separate buildings separate to the main house ( where breakfast is served), positioned around three sides of a grassy central area inhabited by hens, chicks and couple of characterful dogs....

We only stayed for 1 night on our way down to the south of France but already this is in our top 5 places to stay. Aurelia was really welcoming and showed us around the lovely grounds which has lots of animals - horses, chickens, cats, dogs, geese and even a donkey. The heated pool is lovely and big enough...

We are a family of 5 and had the best time at La Gaucherie. We stayed a week in 2 rooms in this beautiful farmhouse, tucked away in the woods with farm animals pond and a heated pool. The rooms were huge, and there was an even bigger shared area downstairs with a warm fireplace. There is art and books...

Two excellent nights spent at this boutique B n B in the Cher / Loire valley owned and run by the delightful Aurelia, whose cuisine and cellar were second to none. Delicious dinners;excellent value. The accommodation was most comfortable, the decor extremely tasteful. Very pleasant heated piscine was a bonus. For those wanting to break a long journey through France,...

We had a great couple of nights at La Gaucherie. Aurelia was really welcoming, recommended a good chateau to visit and produced an excellent breakfast! The rooms were lovely and the grounds very relaxing to sit in. The location is very near major roads but the house still had a remote feel. Because we have teenagers we wanted to go...

We had a fantastic stay here on our way travelling back through France. Stunning property, the rooms were beautifully presented and very comfortable. The grounds are lovely and full of animals to keep everyone amused. The real treat was dinner. In a cosy converted barn, the food was fantastic and the hosts warm and welcoming. A truly restful and enjoyable...
