We stayed in this chateau for two nights during a recent visit to France. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We booked a late check-in and were contacted before our arrival to be given the gate code. We had a meal in the chateau one evening and it was lovely. Our room was clean and tidy. I would definitely stay...

While we enjoyed our stay at Chateau des Reaux, I can totally agree with the points of view of others who did not like it and those who loved it. It's kind of a strange place. First you pull up to a closed gate and have to get buzzed in. You won't get any prior instructions before arrival on this...

Worst chateau ever! Despite beautiful potential of this place (nice architecture from 15th century, beautiful garden with the lake and chapel), it has been so far our worst experience (and we travel a lot in this region of France). This is a great example of extremely bad and cheap teste! The owner (an Ukrainian “poet”) with the “stuff”, made this...

We came as family to this horrible place - the owner has put his collection of 500 'leg paintings' inside the beautiful buildings, they are truly hideous, along with the unpleasant modern furniture he has decorated the place with. He has totally ruined the interior of this lovely chateau. The pool chairs are filthy as are the umbrellas, with no...

Our family stayed in Chateau des Reaux just for one night on our way to Saumur. But that was indeed unforgettable experience! We felt like being in romantic fairytale castle surrounded by picturesque park. Dinner with candles, charming music, excellent service – the owner of the Chateau really made our stay memorable. We are grateful for his hospitality!

We visited this b&b with my husband for a short weekend away. We only stayed one night but we spent a lot of our time in the chateau the first day. The chateau has a small number of themed rooms, with swords, shields and other such paraphernalia hanging on the walls. This place definitely is within the love-it-or-hate-it category. The...

The Chateau des Reaux, near Saumur, is theatre from beginning to end! Yevgyni, a charming and charismatic Ukranian, larger than life and very generous with his "little drinks", together with his delightful wife, have almost completed converting this very attractive, gothic style, moated chateau and it's equally attractive grounds into a permanent gallery of stunning, vibrant modern art, with "the...

We really did not like this place. It caters to a very specific audience, but we honestly thought it was awful. It was not the French chateau experience we were hoping for. The grounds are pretty but the building itself looks a bit run down. The owner is very loud and in your face and the decor is extremely kitschy....

If you are looking for an eccentric (but expensive B&B) then this is an option. Positives:Friendly service from Anton, good continental breakfast, good sized bedroom (red room) and a pleasant cycle from the Chateau to Chinon (25 km round trip mostly on the La Loire a velo route). Negatives: Way over priced for the standard of furnishings and fittings especially...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our castle is a famous Renaissance building. It opens its doors as guestrooms. The Chateau is ideally located for the visits of the castles and the vineyards of the Loire valley. The Chateau offers a modern comfort in a setting worthy of fairytails. Our contemporary art gallery will surprise and intrigue you. The new exhibition on the theme of "legs of woman and man in the 3rd millennium" has no analogues in the world. For breakfast we propose not only egg, coffee, croissant but also meat, fruits, omelette and cheese. Our breakfast is really great!
