Really enjoyed staying here. Very comfortable and definitely a 'chateau experience'. Quiet rooms, friendly welcome and delicious table d'hote. Free wifi was also available. Only thing lacking was information on where to eat locally with days of closure. We found the lovely little restaurant in Blaison Gohier and decided to eat there the following evening but it was closed and...

We stayed at Chateau Cheman on May 10th. This is an absolutely charming Chateau located 1 1/2 kilometers out of Blaison in the direction of Angers. Upon arrival we were greeted by Gerdje(sp?) who immediately offered us a glass of wine produced at the Chateau. What a delight after a long flight. Our room was large and spacious with a...

Immediately made to feel welcome by the wonderful hosts, who showed us around this amazing building. The peace and quiet is just fantastic, and the countryside and views don't dissapoint. Our room was huge and the bathroom, with a great walk in shower and free standing roll - top bath couldn't be faulted. The inclusive buffet breakfast was good quality...

We stopped here for one night and wished we had been able to stay longer. The Dutch owners of this beautifully restored Chateau and vineyard are excellent hosts. We enjoyed the wine tasting before dinner, which was delicious and shared in the dining room at a large table with the other guests who were all very convivial. The room was...

We stayed one night on our way further south. We had a very warm welcome from Gerdie, the rooms were extremely comfortable and very well appointed. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the evening prepared for us by Gerdie accompanied by some excellent wine from the chateau. Breakfast the next day was also very good. I would thoroughly recommend this...

We stayed here for 4 nights in the Spring and couldn't wait to return, this time booking for a week. Jan and Gerdie are wonderful hosts, if you get the chance do eat at the Chateau one evening, Gerdie produces a wonderful meal, each course accompanied by one of Jans fantastic wines. They are always a sociable affair and a...

We recently had the pleasure of staying for 4 nights at the beautiful Chateay de Cheman. In a peaceful and tranquil setting surrounded by vineyards a good nights sleep is guaranteed in the big comfortable bedrooms, quality furnishings, fab views. Jan and Gerdie are delightful and the warm ambience of their home seems to encourage a very friendly camaraderie between...

We booked over the internet after reading the reviews from Trip Advisor, and were not disappoiunted. We stayed in the Chateau de Cheman in September 2012. The room we stayed in was very confortable. The hosts were helpful and hospitable and the chateau is well siuated for touring the area. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area. Good...

We prefer to stay in chateaus when visiting France. My husband randomly found the Chateau Chemen on the internet and booked 2 nights stay during our visit to Loire Valley. What made it so special? Maybe it was the wonderful company of the two couples from Holland (repeat guests), or maybe it was the lovely, spacious room with views of...

I agree with the previous review. My wife and I recently did a walking tour through Loire valley. We started at Angers and Blaison-Gohier was our first night stop. We did not book but telephoned shortly prior to our arrival. Whilst the chateau is a bit out of town, Jan kindly collected us by car from the town centre. Jan...

“All rooms furnished to a high standard but we loved Canelle for its lovely views over the vineyards”

“All excellent, we loved Cannelle as next to the delightful guest sitting room. Roses has a lovely bath and Vannille lovely big windows opening onto a little balcony.”

“There are 5 rooms all uniquely decorated. There is a 6th room, in a seperate guest house, that was under construction. The other guests were frequent visitors to Chateau Chemen (a 4 hour drive from Holland) and told us all the rooms they have stayed in were equally nice.”
