Slightly old fashioned however the staff were very welcoming with the en suite room comfortable and clean.

The Abbey is just a short walk as erindoors says but I'm concerned that you're asking about a castle. Apologies if I'm assuming that you're not much acquainted with our geography but are you sure it is New Abbey you're interested in? There are a number of castles not many miles away but we have several places in Britain called Newcastle, they're nowhere near New Abbey and it's not close to the Castle in Edinburgh either.
