We’ve been here for a day and this was the best stay of our whole trip. The view from our tree house was spectacular. The entrance of the house faces the valley and the sunrise here is worth it. The whole property is green and clean. It also has many scenic spots. It’s the perfect place for anyone who’s looking for mindfulness. A special mention to the host Rajesh, who’s been a wonderful host. He’s very kind and friendly. The food tastes really good. Had a great time here.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Aranyakam during 30-Sep to 2 rooms for 2 nights stay from 01-Oct to 03-Oct (2 families, 7 members). We fell in love at the first sight of the resort facility almost bringing back the traditional kerala tharavdu "(naalu kettu") feeling with all antique furnishings. The owner Rajesh is very friendly , always willing to provide more information on the major attractions and ensure that tourists have a pleasant stay. Jaffer and their chief cook makes excellent breakfast. The dinner will be made as per the guest's preference with prior booking. The food served during dinner were good and tasty , but I found it a bit costlier. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend for tourists who want to explore the place in solo or as a family groups or as group of friend - this place will not disappoint you. Thank you Rajesh, Jaffer and team for welcoming us and making our stay at Aranyakam and memorable one. …
The property is set in a sprawling 30 acres area. Magnificently designed, each and every corner of the homestay is a sight to behold. Very spacious and very very well maintained. Excellent service and assistance by people in charge of the place. It felt like home away from home with all the on-demand beverages, juices and food.
My friend and I had a day visit Aranyakam two days ago. ‘ In resonance with nature’ is the best narrative for our experience. Two boys - Jaffer & Peter - are the best ‘combination duo’ to make the guests happy. Enjoyed every bit walk between the coffee plants; noisy crikets and the cool breeze. ‘Tree houses’ are an Experience! Promised to return with family 🙂
Stayed with my wife for two days at Tree house overlooking to valley. Stay was very comfortable. Mr. Rajesh & Zaffer was friendly and welcoming. Property was managed very well & breakfast was awesome. Highly recommended.
From past reviews it appears this place might’ve been bustling and lively at one time, but we were very disappointed when we visited in Feb this year. First of all, the sales person who takes your booking is not on the property, and did not coordinate well with the hosts about our arrival or meal requirements etc. We arrived at lunch time, only to be told there was no lunch available! Rajesh was kind enough to drive us into town for a meal, or we might’ve had to wait until dinner time. The main building looked dusty and unkempt. The rooms smelt musty and the towels were dirty. Bed linen had not been changed. For 4000/- rupees a night, it clearly did not meet expectations! It appears they were short staffed at the time, but then better to shut the place for a few months, rather than let it out in sub-standard conditions. We are not the sort of travellers who are looking for luxury, just basic but clean accommodation, and experiences close to nature. No activities were offered or arranged, like a morning trek or Visit to a tribal village or nature walk or bonfire, nothing. The hosts are friendly and good people, and the dinner and breakfast were very tasty, but overall the place was unkempt, dusty and not up to standard for the price. Another suggestion would be to let guests serve how much they need (buffet style) rather than serve food on each table, to avoid wastage. A beautiful location and property, but not well maintained.…
We just got back from our visit to Wayanad. I infact tried booking this place in 2018, but wasn't able to because they were booked during Christmas. My wife and I wanted a place which 1) was far away from the city noise, 2) had home cooked food, 3) gave us the real nature sound (birds chirping + leaves fluttering), and this place ticked all the boxes. Neema and Rajesh were very welcoming and they ensured our stay was comfortable. The food is over the moon - we never knew bread toast with butter and jam could taste this good. This couple was very courteous because we saw them helping a family who had visited the property to check on availability during an afternoon. Since this family was hungry, Neema cooked them food in very short time and Rajesh managed to provide them a place to stay, even their request was in short notice. Their property is on a 30 acre coffee estate, which includes a bunglow and couple of tree houses that overlooks the valley. The tree houses are usually pre-booked because it is actually on a hill and when you open the door it overlooks the valley. The bunglow has an very old school feel with backyard windows overlooking the coffee estate. Rajesh had the patience of taking our pictures with the sunset on the background. I would definitely come back to this peaceful place. Keep rocking Neema & Rajesh.…
Rajesh and Neema were lovely and made us feel so welcome, and the food was fatastic. It was lovely to stay in an old colonial home in such beautiful surroundings, we had a wonderful guide who took us out for a morning and showed us lots of interesting things. We had a very good lunch in an Indian restaurant with all the locals which was great.
This place has really amazed us as we were so close to nature. When you stay in a bamboo tree house you really are very closely connected to the forest. Our hosts, Neema and Rajesh are extremely friendly even when they are hard at work on the coffee plantation. It was really lovely walking around the plantation and seeing it run. Neema was also able to arrange a private tour where we were able to see tea plantations, a bamboo workshop, and go on a nature hike to a mountain village. One of the best things was sitting on the porch of our hut every morning and looking out over a deep valley in the western ghats wilderness, where we could look down on Eagles hunting, and hear Elephants cry out down in the valley. The meals were excellent as well. I would highly recommend.
We stayed there for 3 nights - the house looks really nice. Its an ancient family house that was nicely renovated. The house and the surrounding garden and farm, the scenery near by worth getting there. Yet the rooms are very simple and not very clean. the bed linens don't smell very good, towels look like they had better times. Food is OK not more. Owners are welcoming and nice
