I and my wife with two friends stayed at this hotel in two double rooms on 7th Night. the hotel is good. located at the center of Kalpetta town. Although access to the Hotel is a little convenient there is a safe parking area for your own vehicle. Food and accommodation are worth the cost of one night's stay. however, the hot water supply system to be improved. My wife was unable to take bath because of the non-availability of hot water. Overall stay was good. breakfast served is very good and healthy.

we went to this resort during the month of december.
The staff was very friendly. Rooms were neat and clean.
Also the pool was quiet nice.
We had lovely experience as we took the travelling package which was arranged by the hotel and we explored wayanad to the fullest.
Good experience!

i visited wayanad on 10th jan to 14th jan for short vacation....i booked surya duplex for four people. location was good atmosphere was good clean and tidy campus but doors of washroom having spots from inside which looks dirty. Bed size was also small and hard. service was slow but waiters were much polite and humble.but phone operators of room services and housekeeping were very lazy. we asked for room service, operator denied to take order and told us they do not provides room service on Sunday but after talking to the manager they provided us room service. Food was good but if u r not habitual of spicy food then plz tell them to make food not much spicy. Staff r good but they r having language problem no English no hindi. Overall good place.

First and the foremost, I would definitely not to call this write up as a review of the hotel, I am just sharing my horrifying experience I encountered in Haritagiri.

In fact this is the first time that I was taken for a surprise of the quality of a hotel property considering the reviews on Trip Advisor.

I had booked this property thro Ezeego, online portal and after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor.

The main idea of stopping over at Kalpetta was because of my continuous drive from Guruvayur and Kozhikode, thinking that staying here for a night would be refreshing and good before I reach my destination, Bangalore.

As usual with the guarantee and my previous experience of using the services of Ezeego I completed the formality of Check in and was allotted the room # 103, this room was categorized as Executive A/c, located on the ground floor, and this where my horrifying experience started at this hotel.

It was a night mare to enter the room thro the passage / corridor which was not cleaned at all and the entire area leading to the room was in a mess with mud sticking on the floor. Later I went inside the room, which was dark and shabby, I found the Linen used on the bed had stains on them and the pillow covers were torn, the floor inside the room were not cleaned at all, hairs were running around the entire room and it was totally dirty with a foul smell.

Later when I checked the toilets, this was the ugliest places that I have ever seen in my life, being a frequent traveler I have never seen this kind of hopelessly maintained toilets with

1/ the seat cover being broken,
2/ leaking taps where no water was getting in to the bucket
3/ non working shower
4/ color faded and broken seat cover on the commode unfit to be used by humans

This is when I decided to RUN out of this hotel, I immediately packed my clothes back and I checked out of the hotel at 1.45 PM. By booking a Executive A/c room, if this was the fate, then god should only save people using the other category of rooms.

So I checked in at 12.50 and checked out of the hotel at 1.45PM. Being a Saturday I tried checking in with other hotels in Kalpetta, I was unable to find a room, I was put into lot of discomfort along with my family, where I had a 5 year kid also traveling with me, finally i had to travel another 300Kms to reach my destination the same day.

Finally, let my review be considered as a word of caution / wake up alarm for travelers utilizing this property.

There are plenty of nice properties in and around Kalpetta for the same price, in fact Wayanad happens to be a tourist hot spot because of the distance from Bangalore, unfortunately hotel properties like these are horrifying which really spoil the holiday mood for the travelers.

I had booked for 3 nights and stayed only 1. The room was built over the pool which might account for the nasty smell in the room. There was a hole in the wall which was stuffed with toilet paper, a power point in the bathroom hanging off the wall and the shower curtain was covered in mould and stains.

I had chosen this place because it had a pool, however the pool was green and dirty and the pool steps rusty. There were no loungers or anywhere comfortable to sit by the pool - not that I would have got in the pool as it looked like a health hazard.

The outside areas, paths and steps were unswept and littered with dirt, leaves and debris.

The restaurant was still open at 3pm, the lunch buffet food had been removed, but food debris remained on the tables and floor. Waited for service and eventually had to go to receptionist and he found a waiter to take my order.

This place needs some serious attention to maintenance and cleaning.

Dear Madam.. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about your stay. It’s great to get constructive feedback that really helps us to improve our services. Also. We take care all your points seriously. Unfortunately we started our swimming pool cleaning jest before your check in time, while the cleaning time pool water will show green and it’ll take some time to change normal condition. Your Comments about the overall hotel maintenance has been shared with the housekeeping and maintains teams. Your kind words not only motivate our teams but also help them achieve higher standards. We hope that you have the opportunity to come and stay with us again. Sincerely.. GENERAL MANAGER .

The management is very poor.
In our room hot water was not coming in the morning of our departure. When we called up front desk, they did not bother to check the problem. Finally we got hold of a lower staff who got us a bucketful of hot water.
Room size was nice. But for the extra bed we had to call up many times.
Room service is terrible. We asked for a cup of tea in the morning. After one hour had to cancel the order, and they never even bothered to say sorry.
In their website they advertise about a few restaurants, but actually they serve only buffet dinner and breakfast ( bad quality and same menu everyday). We didn't try lunch. It is the only restaurant I have ever been where the buffet table caught fire and the staff did not have any idea how to extinguish it.

Don't go there! We had an awful experience. It is overpriced, we have good room but they decided to do building works until 11pm and also didn't tell us they would be having a private party with music booming out. We complained several times but the music and building works stopped us sleeping. The food was awful. The roost that we had in our whole 3 week trip. The place says it has al the nice things but it is not well looked after.

If you want to stay in the middle of a nightclub then this is the place for you. Every night they hold a `function` which involves hords of screaming people and thumping music right in the centre of the hotel. The hotels slogan is `come back to nature` you couldnt be futher from this feeling if you slept on a motorway, especially annoying when you are visiting Waynard wildlife sanctuary at 5.30 the next morning! Also the lonely planet have clearly not visited this hotel for a few years as they now have a swimming pool [which is freezing and has many of its tiles missing} and the price for the cheapest grotiest room is 1600r. I read these reviews all the time and often dont take any notice but trust me on this one.

Reception staff were really nice and friendly, and I really enjoyed my ayurvedic massage in the ayurveda spa. Also the youngest of the waiters in the restaurant was lovely and helpful. But the rest of my stay at Haritagiri was not really worth the money. Room wasn't the cleanest, bed not so comfy, little tiny termites or something in the bed too (not a big issue for me, but made it feel a bit unclean...). Food in the restaurant was not great and the breakfast was bad in terms of choice and presentation. For quite a fancy place you expect much more. Either raise the standards or lower price. But thanks again to the lovely helpful reception staff, you were great!

In October 2007 we were at this hotel. Terribly upset on the
comfort and other services provided for the value which you
got to pay. Shameful that the Kerala Government is also
charging a luxury tax on this hotel. For what?

When we checked in, the toilet was wet with water used for shower from the previous guest. We had to call the housekeeping for it. The aircondition was not working while we checked in and the controller was with the housekeeping.
Fridge was plugged off. Normal trick by the housekeeping personells to get some baksish as usual. We were so tired and went early to bed. around at 11:30 receptionist called and asked whether the aircondition is working or not? This is a place where aircondition is not at all necessary at this time as this is a hill station and the temperature is on an average 15 degree centigrade during night.

Rooms have no style and the sofa set is about to be thrown out
as it is dirty and outdated. Next day room service brought many
cup of tea to our room though not ordered and then taken away
to another room after having seen it as a mistake.

Breakfast is served and the toast bread is provided after
spreading the butter and marmalade without any gloves by the
hotel personnels.

A rate of Rs. 2900.-- plus taxes is definitely not worth at this
hotel as Wayanad is cheaper in labour and they are
exhorbitantly expensive for such a backward place.
If you read my review for Grand Hotel at Cochin, you will see
that they are only charging less than Rs. 1600 per night for such
a clean hotel. There is no comparison in any way

Atlantic and European tourist please keep away from this
horrible hotel as it is a totally rip off hotel.

We knew about Udupi hotel. But haritagiri hotel must cater to middle class tourists also. Food is always main concern. I had a talk with hotel people. They told that they take cognisance of my concern and try to include more veg varieties.
