Detailed Reviews
We, a family of four stayed at Cybele Hill resorts for 2 nights. Excellent rooms and located at hilltop with good view. Eco friendly location with an option to trek and enjoy. Food served are similar to home made. The service from the restaurant was good and the staff were very courteous. The owner of property was humble and made arrangement on his own to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable

We had a great last weekend at Cybele Hill Resort. Cosy stay in the treehouse cottage. Enjoyed the pool with my daughter. The best part was the trek up the mountain peak. Amazing view from the top. View from the Treehouse Cottage was great. Esp the view of the Karapuzha lake. The food was homely esp enjoyed the barbeque. The interesting hidden cave we explored during the morning trek.

When I was planning my trip to Wayanad, I came across the web site of Cybele Hill Resorts. I liked the photos of the cottage and view from the resort. But when I looked around for traveller reviews, I could find none. After exchanging a couple of mails and directly talking to Mr. Mathew & Mr. Prageesh at the resort I went ahead with my booking. We drove from Bangalore and had to leave the vehicle at Mr. Mathews Residence plus office in Muttil town. We were taken for a 3 km steep climb up Muttil hill in a Jeep. The road was narrow and bad in some places - a 4 wheel drive vehicle is a must to reach the resort. Once we reached the resort, we started feeling that the trip was well worth it & the pictures were shot at the resort.
I had booked the standard cottage and found it to be very neat & comfortable with an attached kitchen. Other option available was Honemoon cottages. The tree house was under construction & a conference room was also being planned. A kids play area was also being put up. The resort has been in operation for less than an year but it was well maintained. A basic shuttle court and dining area completed the facilities in the resort.
The cottage is quite optimal for a couple with 2 small children. All the cottages open to a view from the top of the hill which was quite enchanting - especially dawn & dusk. We sat in the cottage verandah for more than an hour early morning & late evening just watching the changing scenary of the clouds moving across the valley below. The peace and quite surrounding helped us quickly relax and unwind. Though there was no AC, the nights were quite cool due to the lush green trees around.
All the workers there were locals and they made sure that we felt at home. All requests were quickly attended to and they were more than willing to help us plan the sight seeing visits to nearby areas. One of the nights, the UPS backup power failed in the cottage and they ensured that the generator was kept running through the night for powering the fans.
Though the choice of food was limited & mild, we enjoyed the availability of some of the local cusine - Puttu, Avail, Appam etc. I would definitely term the food more homely that from a regular hotel. Good sight seeing & trekking tracks were close by - Edakkal Caves, Wonder Caves, Soochipura waterfalls etc. We enjoyed our stay of 3 nights and returned back to Bangalore fully refreshed.
A peaceful, homely & relaxing resort amidst natural surrounding. Positive for small families & group of friends planning a relaxing or adventurous trekking trip & nature lovers. Do not expect luxury - like Swimming pool, Gym, Spa or AC. For me it was truely value for money.

Myself and my wife went to the Cybele resort for two days. It was a wonderful place to stay and the reception given to us is fabulous. The ride from their office to the resort is thrilling, especially in the jeep. I should not forget to say about the food, which was excellent and the hospitality was awesome. Mr. and Mrs. Mathew and Mr. Dennie gave us a good reception and helped us in a smiling face. If i get another chance to go to Wayanad, I will surely visit this resort and I am happy to suggest about this place to my friend.

I had booked just a day prior to stay & they offered me so called classic cottage which was as good as a servant qtr of a bunglow.Next day offered us glass house which was even smaller.It lacks even basic amenities to be called as resort.You do not have option for ordering food on your wish,small roadside restaurent will offer you better food options.One caretaker will be managing the show on mobile phone.We had to leave the place after one night only & paying for extra half day.Dont go by the pics on websites....Its a BIG NO NO.

Pros:
============
- Great View from deluxe cottages' windows and patio. You can sit and relax by looking at Valley, mountains and a big lake/river directly from here.
- Spacious, Neat and Clean.
- Deluxe Cottages comes with Kerala style big patio and located almost on the top of the mountain and facing towards the valley to give an excellent place to look at the natural beauty.
- Nice place for Bonfire.
- They serve snacks and food at your cottage which you can eat while sitting at patio also.
- Power back up is good but you may have to tell them sometimes. You do not hear generator sound at the cottages. May be other type of rooms like huts/tree house may be nearer to the generator. Prefer deluxe cottage to stay for this advantage and a better view.
- Not much commercialization.
- Good tracking experience till the top of the mountain.
Cons:
==========
- Unavailability of hot water the time you need it most i.e. in the morning. Looks like some plumbing issue as not all the cottages get hot water at the same time. If one of the cottages is using hot water tap, you may not get the hot water in your cottage. They use Boiler for heating up the water.
- Food is not good if you are not a fan of Kerala food and is little expensive for what they serve. Though Chef tries his best to customize the food as per your need but he has got his own limitations.
- Not much to do. No children play area. No games other than chess and carom.
- No intercom. My Airtel did not catch signals over there but reliance did but with weak signals
- No fitness center.
Other useful Info:
======================
- The resort is at 2.5 kms uphill drive from their base office. Do not even try to reach till the resort on top by your own car as the road is v. narrow, v. steep, at some places muddy and full of big big pot holes. To reach there, you have to use the old Mahindra jeep provided by the management. The ride is v. bumpy. Adventurous people should like this ride. But, due to this dependency you feel trapped at resort. This ride is included in the cost only for one up and down journey. If you want to take it again, you got to pay. But, believe me.. you would not like to try this up and down ride more than once in a day. Anyways, this should not be a big issue as most of the time you will be out of the resort.
- For lunch, you should try SilverWoods resort. You can have it on the day you plan to go at Banasura Damn. For other days, there are not many options but you can try Woodland nearby the resort which serves average food.
- Prefer deluxe cottages to stay.

No, it is not available. Only a dining hall attached to the kitchen which was a few steps down from bamboo cottage but I didn't felt it as uncomfortable.
