The tandoori broccoli and kadai paneer were a particular delight.

Thank you guys for making this vacay fantastic for me !
It’s a must visit Resort, adding a few pictures and videos here for reference.
Positives:
+ large spacious rooms with nice balcony and clean and simple decor - dark wood, white walls etc.
+ nice landscaped gardens with wild animals - monkeys, geese, chipmunks etc
+ good hot powerful shower
+ lovely spa with great massages
Negatives:
- resort and accommodation is dated - could do with some money spent on it to bring it back to it's former glory
- service levels were so varied it spoilt the whole stay.
- dry state so you're lucky to get served a beer at dinner
- value for money wasn't good
- pool area wasn't clean and the pool water itself needed attention
A little more on the service experience....it just felt like no one could make a decision and whilst we had great service from the tour manager who organised a great day's sightseeing, the reception staff and waiting staff in the restaurant were all over the shop. Our room wasn't cleaned and we asked for it to be done and it never happened - we waited over an hour to get fresh towels. We asked if we could stay one more night to enjoy the pool area and relax but eventually decided to leave as planned as we felt we were unwanted since a large party of domestic visitors had arrived and basically took over the entire resort.
Food was very average and location wise there is little else to choose from other than the eateries in the resort. The place could be really special if they upgraded the decor and communal areas and gave their employees a little more freedom to make decisions over simple requests rather than them having to run to their manager's every time you asked a question.
Our driver to whom we told all this passed a soap to the receptionist.
Conclusion, hotel to be avoided, especially for Europeans, and hence this rating, the first time I put 1 star.

Deluxe room costs ₹4500/- and they will give it for ₹3200/- a special rate as we were a group. We had reached the place at about 01:00 am, was very much disappointed to see the rooms as it looked so tiny, untidy and looked like a ₹ 1000/- rent room of a local lodge/hotel. As we were tired slept off like that and in the morning we were awaken by construction sounds. When we opened our doors we saw work going on in the opposite side rooms. It was a mess as there were workers doing tile cutting, laying n so on... When we checked out own room we found it was so filled with the dusts from the opposite renovating rooms. Is this the service you expect from a deluxe room costing ₹4500/-? They could have done renovations at a floor by closing the entire floor and not giving rooms to guests in that floor. When we complained about this they kept mum. Spoilt the entire fun. Food was pathetic, we saw some North Indian guests complaining as there were only meals for lunch n so on. They had more than enough staffs but they were least bothered in any service. They were in group and were always at their own world. The play area was kept so untidy, when we asked for table tennis ball, we were told to find it out ourselves. The only good thing here was the swimming pool. Highly not recommended as it's purely a waste of money and a total mood spoiler. Request you to enjoy ur holidays by not selecting this.
At first site, our cottage room looked lovely. But then we noticed lots of long black hairs lying on the floor, which disgusted us a bit. After that, we found out that the toilet wasn't attached to the bathroomfloor. When sitting down on the toilet, it felt as if the whole toilet came loose. Also there were clean sheets from housekeeping lying on one of the rocking chairs on our terrace. When we asked them to be removed, they just put them on the chairs of the neighbouring terrace. They still were there when we left. I wonder who's bed they were going to make with those sheets??
We had lunch here, which wasn't very good. Diner was better (best jeera rice we've had!), but service was very slow. You keep wondering if you can see six people serving in the restaurant with only four guests, why you have to wait half an hour even to get drinks? Whe just wanted to have a coke. When drinks finally arrived, they were light, which we do not drink. When we asked for a regular coke, the waiter answered that there was a problem with refrigerator space, so regular coke was available but not cold. We ended up with two cans of lukewarm coke. Bhwagh! Breakfast was the same pattern. Six men walking around, but we didn't get our coffee until after we finished the food....
We still had the swimmingpool issue to deal with. In the evening we spoke to the manager at the front desk. At first he stated it was clearly mentioned on their website that the pool was closed. But we booked way before and did not check the website again before we left home. Then he offered to give us a free lunch, which we accepted. As we already had lunch, we didn't have to pay the ticket. But on checking out we found out that only the food we had for lunch was removed form the bill ans the drinks were still on. As our patience with this hotel and its staff had to this point dropped below sea level, we started another argument. Which after two phonecalls resulted in not having to pay for the drinks.
We left Green Gates, knowing for sure we would never, ever return here. Although looking beautiful from the outside, this hotel really suffers from a severe lack of management, which is such a shame.
The dinner was terrible too
my advice if ur planning for a pleasant holiday pls this place is a big nooooooooooooooo..........u can opt for wayanad silver woods....tht place was like heaven for me after staying in this place
