Detailed Reviews
I never thought Chopta will be such a beautiful place .. It's Amazing .. I fall in love .. Your eyes will be surprised every time you look out. The Himalayan Camp is placed one of the best position from where you can see series of mountains with fully covered with snow ..
The landscape in front of your camp will be full of white snow but like a foam and it can go up to 3/4 ft.
The quality of camp is very good and clean but those doesn't have experience to face minus 4 to 7, will be difficult just to live on layer of blankets provided by the stuff .. the support people and management will also ready to help you and make your life as comfortable as possible. DEC/Jan traveler needs to have at least 4 layers of warm cloths before get inside the blankets.
Don't expect room heater because in Chpota no such activities are allowed by the forest department ..
Food is really good and the camp team is one of best i ever had experienced.. Everyone should visit Chopta for once and should stay in Himalayan Resort ..
I am planning to visit again ...

Nestled in the grassy slopes mountain slopes, a few kms from Chopta and near the entrance to the Tunganath trek route, the Himalaya Resort is a beautiful and serene place to be. It has 6 well equipped and comfortable tents with attached bathrooms, with running cold water and hot water on demand. The meals are included and is cooked in the kitchen tent on site. The food is simple but wholesome and tasty.
The view of the snowclad Himalayan peaks on a clear and sunny morning is awe inspiring. The feel of your fingers curled around a steaming cup of tea, a plate of alu parathas in front of you and the heavy mist slowly rolling down the hills and trees around you, is unforgettable.
Lots of birds and small wildlife can be seen from the tent verandas if you have a pair of good binoculars.
The tents are managed by three super efficient boys, Sanjay, Mohit and Rajesh who cater to all your requests if they are doable. These three are the only staff there and their duties are multifaceted.
The resort tents run on solar energy but there are plug points in the dining tent to charge your devices. There are no mobile signals in the tent area but you can get a signal if you are ok with climbing about 50ft on the grassy but steep slope behind the tents.
All in all, a unique experience.

It was an adventure to reach this place. We waited in Ukhimath with our vehicle and Resort sent us one vehicle to pick us up otherwise it was impossible to reach at night around 10 PM. Thanks Sanjay & Ustaad from Resort. We stayed there 2 night & it was below Zero degree in the middle of snow. we enjoyed and lot. Staffs were very kind and supportive and they are unbelievable hard working people, very sweet & nice. always ready to help. We requested them to prepare some pahadi chicken & Ustaad prepared it, we will not forget it in our whole life. Awesome. Some concern - Kind of rate they charge to customer, should have little more facilities in room. it is very basic tent with attached Bathroom. I will recommend it to my friend only for locations & staff.
Thank you
Arnab

If you are looking for luxury and other tourist amenities, maybe this is not the place for you. But if you want to get closer to mother nature, a stay here would definitely help you achieve that. Thats what me and wife experienced here , the bliss of being closest to nature and some divine energy which made us stronger once we left the place. Some things cannot be explained but needs to be experienced and the energy here was something I have not experienced before.
It's not a coincidence that the people who maintain this place are one of the best human beings you will come across. Staying in city we complain of even the smallest things, the first thing I experienced here was the humility of the people including the owners Pankajji and Neerajji. You can read 100 books on humility but these folks can teach you the same in a few interaction. One of the best services I have experienced, but again this is not the trained 5 star experience but genuine good behaviour.
Some of the things you need to take care, which the owners themselves will tell you, is that this is a swiss tent accommodation ( same as picture). The area has no electricity and people rely on solar power which is also scare. Do resource utilization is necessary. Hot water is available easily in bucket or flask for drinking once the request is made. Food is simple but delicious. Please carry enough woolen clothes and I would recommend Decathlon jackets or gears with temperatures marking. Switch off your phone when not in use as battery would drain faster due to low temperature.
We witnessed the year's first snowfall here and did trekking to Baba Tungnath Temple which is close by and highly recommended. The owners would help with trekking gears like boots and spikes, so no need to carry.
To conclude, this was one of the best experience and made us experience why less is always more.

Thank you Sir for your praise and encouragement. Not many people realise how tough it is for us to run our camp site in these challenging times and harsh weather. We always strive to make the stay of our guests a truly memorable and comfortable experience. But at times we fall short, not due to lack of intention but due to lack of resources. Thanks again for your words of encouragement,it means a lot for our team. We look forward to your stay again with us.

Not many lodging options are open in this area in these times so this is one of the decent ones.
Pros:view outside tents is awesome, bathrooms are fine given that they r tents, car can go right upto base of tents, staff tried to do their best to accommodate our needs
Cons: staff require more training in services n hospitality. Hot water bucket requests were ignored n refused in beginning but later consented. Understand that these are tent accommodation with basic amenities but hygiene standard of bedding linen , dining area and kitchen need to be improved. Tea and Food quality needs improvement too ( maybe in Covid times they are managing with replacement staff)
Overall ok stay

Great place to experience the beauty and hospitality of Garhwal .. we spent three nights at the Himalaya Resort, Chopta. Neeraj ( extremely patient & caring) the owner guided us all the way from Ukhimath as we drove down late in the evening through it’s twists and turns .
The camp site is managed by Rajesh and Dharamveer, locals from nearby villages. Amazing fellows who wouldn’t leave any stone unturned to make you feel comfortable. Our requests for Garhwali food was met with wide smiles & endless cups of tea were served super prompt . They even dug out some classics and coffee table books for me!
Its extremely rare to experience such warmth and genuine hospitality as we witnessed there .
Highly recommend this place In Chopta for great views of the Chaukhambha and amazing hosts

Sipping a cup of Tea watching the mighty Himalayas and yummy pakoras to munch- thats how we were welcomed when we arrived at Himalayan Resort on 12th Nov 2021. Sanjay and his team are fully customer centric and always on toes to serve you.The food was really good. Hot water for drinking or bathing was provided on time. They packed aloo prathas for us at 3am when we had to leave for Tungnath -Chandrashila sumit😍 Tents were clean and cosy. Toilets were equally good . This is a must visit stay option in Chopta .

Neeraj the owner of this property is really helpful. He tracked us all the time till we reached the location.
Food is very tasty and they ready food any time you ask either early in morning or late night. Tea is also great. Generally I couldn't find good tea in my whole trip but here is was really good.
Location is also good. You can see snow capped mountains just outside from your tent.
Only cons is there is no charging point in camps. You have to charge your device either in dining hall or in the kitchen.

This place is a nice getaway in the mountains of the wonderful beautiful Himalayas. We decided to trek to the place which took about 3.5 hours but it was well worth it.The place was nice and clean .The staff also who are running it are also nice and caring . They took good care of our demands. The food they made was wonderful with fresh ingredients.
Whenever we were hungry and we asked ,we were offered tea , coffee and snacks . The mountains got a little cold after the sun went down. The staff were caring enough to arrange a small fire in front of our room that we could enjoy the beautiful nature outside at night. They also happily told us about the place and the local stories. All in all,it's a very good place to get away from the crazy city life.
A must visit place for nature lovers.....❤️
