Detailed Reviews
We stayed here as a stopover between Shimla and Dharmsala. A wonderful experience, a quirky building but full of character, room very comfortable but basic. It is located in a heritage village, we just wish there had been more information on the history of the village available in the hotel. The inclusive all la carte meal in the evening was delicious, we were pleased to eat with other guests otherwise it would have not had the same atmosphere. Sadly it was too cold to use the pool. Breakfast was served outside in the sunshine watching the chefs making the daily chapatis. Perfect! Very helpful staff.

We needed to change our booking date to arrive a day earlier. Mr. Dinesh helped us arrange the new booking and made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable.
Garli is a lovely Heritage Hotel with comfortable, well appointed rooms, if one chooses the rooms on the higher floors. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good and is served either in the restaurant or outdoors by the pool area.
One of the staff members was kind enough to give us an interesting walking tour of the village to see the former mansions. It would have been impossible to find them on our own. Barbara from New York City

This is a beautiful restored property with all things screaming vintage right from the door knobs to lanterns. The staff is professional and polite. However, they could lower the price considering the amenities and meal spread.

Unusually quaint hotel, very quiet ambience. Our double room was unusually shaped with views out of the turrets. There was no hair dryer and no television. Staff were pleasant, quick to provide us with extra pillows. We ate a la Carte and there was a wide range of food to choose. We were the only people in the restaurant which meant there was little atmosphere. If you are after some peace and relaxation you certainly get that here and it breaks up the road journey between Shimla and Dharamsala.

First of all I would like to say that the staff are very nice and helpful. We reached a day earlier than our booking date but Mr Dinesh at the reception went out of his way to help us to get the booking pre poned. Hats off to him.
Property is fine but nothing to do there and around the village. No activities in the property at all. If you are not in a group, it's totally boring. One should plan only with a group for a holiday there. It's an old style heritage property and takes you back many years earlier.
Due to low occupancy, they had no buffet for meals. and the choice of food offered was very limited. One non veg and 2 veg (very very simple). At the price charged, there should be some variety atleast. However the food was very tasty.
Overall nice stay.

This is a lovely restored property right in the heart of this sleepy village. The hotel surrounds a swimming pool.
The room was quite large with good facilities. The restaurant is good and they serve beer. Great location if travelling between Dharamshala and Shimla.

Excellent heritage hotel with lovely bedrooms and good service. The hotel has a nice pool and food was great too.
We had a nice room with a baby cot too! Bathroom was adequate but needs refurbishing.
We were served evening meal by the pool which was good. Breakfast was served inside the restaurant. Not much choice but enjoyed the food offered.
Sadly we stayed here only for one night.

The property is in Garli which is in the middle of no where. Initially we were not sure about the property. But as soon as we entered we were spellbound with the property. It is a heritage property which has been renovated very very beautifully. Mr Pawan the general manager was always present everywhere and doing everything. It was such a pleasure to experience Hospitality at its best. It was like one man army. Very happy to be there.

Yes, there re ground floor rooms. The stairs were on the outside of the building, I think, not too long but fairly steep. I would ask to have a downstairs room. Look out for the bats flying over at dusk, a lovely sight.
