We recently spent a long and relaxing weekend at Crinan - wonderful! Even though it was November and the weather wasn't the best (snow, rain, hail - all in a few minutes) Crinan is still a fabulous location. The hotel is traditional and very comfortable, and we had great service from all the staff. Its nice to see Frances artwork...

Crinan Hotel is a wonderful, genuine experience of the west coast of Scotland set in a breathtaking, special location. Crinan has a unique shipping and canal history to discover as well as numerous walks which take in the loch. The hotel is a friendly, homely, welcoming experience with excellent accommodation and a menu which is locally sourced. Crinan caters to...

There is something about this place which just makes you feel good . It's quirky and different but all hangs together well . Whether it is its stunning location looking across the loch from its position next to lock gate on the canal and the lighthouse or the warmth of the staff or the bar and wonderful warming seafood stew...

We have visited Crinan many times, but this was the first time we'd stayed at the Crinan Hotel - we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is nothing like the usual 'styled and packaged' modern hotel. It's quirky, vintage (in the very best way) and utterly unique. Our room was spacious, clean bright and comfortable, with the most spectacular views....

Just as para handy loved the Crinan canal we have just had a wonderful stay at the Crinan hotel!the view from our beautiful large airy room was amazing and we even had a view from the bathroom over the canal basin. The hotel was quiet but that did not stop them giving us first class service and food. The hotel...

Fantastic room with stunning views of Scarba and Jura and the other Islands of the Doris Mor and one can imagine the Corryvreckan. Sky at night beyond belief. Dinner of outstanding scallops. smoked salmon and langoustines rounded off with a passable dessert and coffee for £40. Staff highly attentive. Chef came out in the morning to change a wheel that...

I've given the Crinan Hotel an average of 4* - that's 5* for the setting and 3* for the hotel itself. If you've never been to Crinan, I'd thoroughly recommend you go - the location is wonderfully peaceful, the views are out of this world and walking or cycling along the canal is a memorable experience. But I have to...
