All the wonderful descriptions are truly accurate. Lovely, lovely farmhouse with spacious, comfortable rooms. Perfect location for exploring Normandy beaches and Bayeux, while experiencing the countryside of Normandie. Catherine is an outstanding hostess -- warm, welcoming and amazingly helpful with recommendations both in Normandie area and beyond. (We thoroughly enjoyed our pilgrimage to Mont Saint-Michel. An incredible experience that we...

La Fresnee is a large French farmhouse set in a beautiful and quiet rural location. There are two classic outbuildings, one housing an indoor pool and the other containing the guest accommodations, all of which are bright, light, ample and recently refurbished. The best thing about La Fresnee, though, is its owner Catherine. She could not be more welcoming and...

Stayed here for four nights and I must say that this place is wonderful. It is situated in the countryside outside Bayeux and to the lovely fishing village of Port-en-bessin. The rooms are great modern and very clean and private. There is also an indoor pool and good parking space. Breakfast in the morning was also great and abundant and...

We stayed in this brilliant find for one night on our way down to the south. The main house is set in plenty of land with parking for a loaded up car with trailer. The charming lady who runs the hotel is really helpful and provides a gorgeous French breakfast. The rooms are based in a separate building and are spacious...

Not extravagant room but a very warm welcome and spotless clean accommodation. Breakfast was excellent. Swimming pool loved by our kids. Nice surroundings not far from essential sites with good dining opportunities. Good mixture of gastronomical and historical places.

We spent two nights at La Fresnee as part of a week-long road trip in Normandy. The location is perfect for visiting the region, being only a short drive to the coast or to Bayeux, yet you are in the middle of farmland. The rooms are in a separate building from the main house. It was an old barn that...

We stayed here for two nights with our teenage children and we all had a great time. The room was spacious very clean and bright. The girls had fun swimming in the pool, we enjoyed walking around the grounds and the breakfast was very impressive. Cereals, bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, fresh fruit, cakes, cheese and more. This was the best place I stayed during my few days in Normandy. There was a lovely welcome from the hostess, the bedroom was luxurious and breakfast fabulous. The indoor swimming pool was a bonus which I did not make use of. Close to Bayeux and the D-Day beaches, it is slightly off the beaten track and a bit difficult...

“A superb quiet typically French countryside Chateau”

“We stayed in the olive room with full/queen bed and a twin bed; private water closet, shower, two sinks; two windows. Note: The European windows open two ways - slightly ajar at the top or fully open from the side. If it is a warm night, you will want the windows fully open for a nice breeze.”
