JW Mariott Concierge Ambassador, Oy is entirely instrumental. We arrived at the hotel on May 6th, 2022. We were relatively new to the place and did not have time to plan our trip well in advance. Our trip was made memorable. Oy, who helped us arrange and connect with the best tour operators. The JW Mariott hotel in Phuket was a great experience overall. Staff were courteous and extremely helpful.
We had a wonderful 4 day stay in at this beautiful resort in Phuket. Everything was at par excellence. The restaurants especially Ginja were superb. Molly, Nveng and Mai made our dinner time delicious and special. Our housekeeping staff took effort to celebrate my birthday. Special call out to Fai- thank you!! Finally I would want to call out Oy at the concierge for guiding us with the sightseeing itinerary. Thank you everyone at JW Marriott - we indeed had a time of our lives!
We recently spent 5 nights at the JW Marriott Phuket and we had a very nice time. I think with 2 covid years and so many empty hotels around the world this trip was Major culture shock for us. We visited on a Holiday weekend unbeknownst to us and for 3 of our 5 days we felt like breakfast was being held in a Nursery....not a dining room...We choose this hotel as we had stayed here before....it is most definitely a Value property as opposed to a luxury property with quite large rooms and is part of a huge resort complex which has a time share resort and several other hotels all with the same Marriott owner. Positives and Negatives are below.....we would not return to this property. Positives: Beautiful property, like a gorgeous Garden of Eden right on the beach. Friendly , Friendly staff who could not be nicer Large Room size Nice pool areas for both Children and an adults only pool Very inexpensive prices for a hotel of this caliber Extensive breakfast buffet Ability to book large suites for low prices if you catch it right. A veritable UN of guests, front desk told me the breakdown was India, Singapore, Malaysia, British, French, Americans etc....surprisingly few Thai's....but my Thai friends prefer newer properties, so that explains that. Part of Marriott Bonvoy...so can earn and use points, though few suites to upgrade into...so if you want one, buy it. Negatives: Holiday weekend, we counted over 35+ babies under the age of 2 screaming their guts out at the breakfast buffet...noisy was not the word. Parenting was no where to be found. Beware holidays and weekends we were told are like this. Rooms are poorly connected for charging electronic devices. Rooms are in dire need of renovation When breakfast buffet is full or too loud, if the hotel is full enough they open the Deli downstairs for overflow...it is poorly lit and like a dungeon. Food prices at this resort are high for portions that are small....I don't mind paying however they need to provide some food. The beach has jelly fish warnings and the water can be treacherous....but they have beautiful pools. They also have an adults only pool. Hotel rooms are basically the same, locations is what differs and few suites to choose from. This is an OLD property in both design and execution There are flies around any outside dining, and many of them, as well as when you are sitting by the pool.....Many flies. Let me be clear that this is Clearly a Family with Children resort property. There is nothing Romantic or quiet about it. Even during dinner at the Italian restaurant a group of 15 showed up for dinner. Parents sat together (8) and the children(5-10 year old's) were placed at the other side of the restaurant (7)...right by us....They were noisy and poorly behaved and what to say? Good parenting was not on display at this property and it was both sad and upsetting to experience, but alas not the hotels fault. We were able to use Grab or local taxi's and eat most of our dinners out. We had some fabulous food in the surrounding areas, truly spectacular. Some helpful information......The Italian restaurant is only open for dinner however their Pizza oven starts up from 11-11 I believe they told us.....so you can order delicious fresh pizza all day long to any venue or pool. IF you are eating lunch at the Deli restaurant, you can add in an order sushi from Benihana next door...it was delicious. However note that Bonvoy members get a discount on food but Not in Benihana as that is an outside vendor....fyi. This resort would also be a great place for a conference. Wishing everyone a lovely holiday.…
While we usually stay at the Marriott’s Mai Khao Beach, our Vacation Club “home”, this time we joined 3 other families at the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, literally just around the corner. While we could have booked using our Vacation Club points, the cash rate was so low, we opted to pay cash instead. We booked a ground floor garden access room with 2 queen beds, and submitted SNAs. As it was a busy time (on some days, the JW was at 100%), the SNAs did not clear, but the room we got was what we wanted in the first place and was spacious enough. Since se have been coming to Phuket for the last 10 years, sometimes twice a year, we had already stayed at the JW a few times. I communicated with Front Desk a few days ahead of the check-in, to arrange airport pick-up, book a round of golf, etc. The arrival was smooth, and Jay at Front Desk was fantastic, making quick work of our check-in. We were welcome as Ambassador guests, a nice quiet room was allocated to us, and we chose the breakfast for all 3 of us as welcome amenity. As there are already many photos of the JW on this group, I only show the small room extension, ideal for stretching out and relaxing, and some outdoors photos. The garden access rooms also have a small outdoor terrace with deck chairs. George the GM runs a solid crew, and we always felt welcome by all the staff. Housekeeping worked like clockwork (thank you Lily, the Executive Head of Housekeeping, and her team!), the concierge desk was effective, and apart from the staff wearing masks, there was no sign of COVID restrictions. Dinesh, the new F&B Manager (he started at the JW some 4 days before our arrival) was busy. And he had a challenge ahead of him, too. While all the F&B outlets served quality food, we had countless issues with orders being mixed up (sometimes repeatedly) and service being less than careful. This could be due to the fact that the resort was at capacity, but they still need fixing. I met with Dinesh and I believe that they will get this sorted out. We had a fantastic stay, were genuinely cared for, and we look forward to returning. I can wholeheartedly recommend the JW Marriott Mai Khao.…
We had an amazing time. The hotel facilities were great, the infrastructure is lovely and the food and drinks are good. Breakfast was particularly delicious. Two additional highlights; the kids club and pool were really nice and the concierge were very helpful and quick for everything.
My family enjoyed so much here. Nice room, delicious breakfast, friendly staff and well organised activities. We joined the Yoga, Tai Chi, and Workout section. Good workout section during the holiday. JW Marriott also have live music from Tuesday to Sunday night. Good atmosphere with some music. We appreciate Sul, Dinesh and Beer professional and sweet services. They are super nice. Thanks for giving us a memorable holiday.
Had a fabulous trip at our second home the JW Marriott for a whole week. The highlight was the fabulous concierge Oy who not only answered all my questions patiently but also gave amazing suggestions and handled all the booking for us. Loved her honesty about what’s best suited for us and her willingness to go the extra mile to help us esp considering we have a young family. Absolutely looking forward to our next trip in Aug where Oy will be taking care of our restaurant bookings and tours even before we reach!
This is our second time visiting this hotel and we loved it just as much. Our first time in the hotel was in 2006 and the second time was in 2022. We experienced on this trip multiple restaurants in the hotel including the deli and the Italian restaurant also the room service and pool side restaurant. The food and prices were great! We concluded our stay by visiting Phucket Elephant Care that Oy the legend concierge booked for us. She was very helpful and explained the different packages that were provided. Without the help of Oy, we wouldn’t be able to choose the correct package for us. It was a great experience and we enjoyed seeing and feeding the elephants. I can’t wait to visit this hotel again!
Stayed at JW for two weeks in April/May. Wonderful hotel made very special by a wonderful team. The south pool headed by Nuay and his team very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Pla the Cucina manager s brilliant and our Housekeeper Poon efficient, friendly and a joy to talk to. This is a great resort hotel - thanks JW! We’ll be back ASAP. Stuart & Moira
Had heard a lot about this property which is why we booked it even tho we knew it’s on the other side of Phuket. However NOTHING disappointed here. From the location to the property and the guests. Everything was so clean but what worked the best was the hospitality. Each time you crossed the staff ‘svadhika’ was coming your way w a big smile even tho it was behind the mask. The rooms were amazing bed so comfortable. I even got sick but they ensured that we are as comfortable as possible. The pool team was great - they would keep checking on you and make sure your drink was refilled be it liquor or just water. Definitely coming back here again!!! Special shout-out to NOM from the pool side and everyone else!!!
