Booked on line as looked lovely, arrived to see hotel in desperate need of renovation. Entrance tile broke (tripping hazard), scruffy gardens - lawns cut looked ready for silage, shed doors so rotten couldn't close; tatty. Top room, stains all over ceiling due to constant roof leaks, roof tiles rattled as so many were dislodged or damaged, told no bedroom...

Dear Sir/Madam Firstly thank you for taking time to give us your feedback, we are very sorry that Moorlands did not meet your expectations on this occasion. I would like to address each of the points you have raised individually. The cracked entrance tile on the porch outside is about to be replaced but unfortunately was not done in time...

We stayed here from 12th - 14th April 2017 in the first floor 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was very clean and really spacious with nice views of the grounds, nice comfortable beds and a great power shower. WiFi connection was much better than expected and a real bonus for our 14 year old son and his gaming addiction. The...

We stayed here between Christmas and New Year 2016. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting just behind Woody Bay Steam Train Station. We had the 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you like walking as there are some fantastic walks but you don't have to be...

My husband and I visited the Moorlands hotel for two nights to celebrate New Year's Eve with several other couples and children. I cannot praise the hospitality of the owners Desi and Mark highly enough! They went out of their way to make everyone happy and comfortable, sometimes in challenging situations. The property is lovely and spacious, with beautiful and...

We stayed in the 2 bed self catering apartment at the top of the Hotel. Couldnt fault it. Excellent facilities, loads of space, massive bathroom and very cosy. Crisp cotton sheets and huge bath towels! Fantastic views across the fields beyond and lovely to walk down to Woody Bay Station and watch the steam train. The owners were lovely and...

Had a wonderful break here again. Lovely hotel with the best owners. Lovely family feel, so welcoming. Very comfortable, clean and the breakfast is wonderful. Not the first time we have been there and certainly won't be the last. Highly recommended.

This railway hotel, next to Woody Bay Station on the narrow gauge L&B railway, has returned to its Victorian roots somewhat now that the railway is being restored, though it never lost its old world charm during the intervening decades. Quite enticingly, the garden gate opens straight onto the station platform. Having changed hands about 18 months ago, the hotel...

We stayed for 4 nights in the self catering apartment which was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Location is great for visiting local beaches and places of interest, and the owners were charming. Don't miss Woolacombe beach or the candle maker in Lynton. For a lovely meal the Station Hotel about 4 miles away is good value for money

We only stayed here for two nights, but wished it could have been more. The owners Mark and Desi were fantastic, so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay a relaxing comfortable one. The two bedroomed apartment was lovely, clean and very comfortable and the cooked breakfast was delicious! The surrounding countryside is just breathtaking and...

We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment on a bed and breakfast basis. Apartment was really clean and comfortable with good sized lounge and more than adequate kitchenette. Breakfast as good as any we've had. The couple running it couldn't be more accommodating.
