Uttarkashi has urbanised and has more to offer in terms of material comforts since my last review of MTH. However, with a dedicated and small team, Deepender manages to maintain the same great standards of MTH as in 2012 when i first stayed there. We have been staying there almost every year since then, yet standards do not vary except for the better. Keep it up, Deepender!

My family and friends come often to Uttarkashi to head out to the hills. I am happy that I discovered this gem of a place on our first visit. We always stop here now. It is a small but beautiful hotel. The restaurant is an amazing room with glass windows looking our across the river and mountains. On a sunny day, one can sit here with gorgeous views all around, the smell of really good filter coffee and shelves filled with books. The small garden outside has an amazing variety of birds. If that isn't heaven, I don't know what is!

We spent one night here in October as a stopover while traveling from Gangotri to Sonprayag. The property is beautiful, and located far away from the noisy streets of Uttarkashi. The owner of the property Deepander jee is a true gentleman, and it was a pleasure spending some quality time with him. We would love to be here once again in the future.

I stayed 4 nights here. My hosts Deepender and Poonam and their wonderful staff, especially Binod, made me completely at home in their charming, clean, beautifully located hotel . The cooking was also great. Don’t hesitate, it’s a very good place to stay at a very fair price.

Its an extremely well maintained property. The property owner stays on premise, whcih is always an advantage. Our daughter was unwell on the way to Uttar Kashi. But Deependerji promptly arranged for an appointment with his family doctor, helped alter our booking, and basically made our Gangotri trip possible. We had almost dropped it from our itinerary. The support staff, including Vinodji and the others are excellent too. Food is a little pricey; they have a very basic buffet dinner for 300Rs per person. But we still preferred having our meals there. The river is close by. You can hear it whistle past all night and admire it over an evening tea on the terrace. Can even stroll down to the river. Takes about 10min downhill, along a narrow walkway - across the main road - and then a flight of stairs which takes you to river beach; sit atop a rock and watch the river as it hustles through the mountains. .....:)

I stayed there for 2 nights during May month and it was one of the most excellent stay of mine. To be more specific let's cover each point one by one. 1. Resort - It's a home turned into resort and everything was very well maintained. 2. Room - Very clean and spacious. Everything is so perfectly placed to make optimum utilization of space. 3. Service - Simply great. Whatever u need just ask and they will help u to last extent 4. Food - Even the simple Maggi made by the cook was one of these best I have eaten till now. The dinner was so homely and fresh that you will keep on eating despite stomach is full. 5. Location - The resort is surrounded by hills from all sides. On terrace you will feel cool breeze that makes you feel fresh 6. Owner - The best part of this resort is it's owner Dipender Ji who will make you feel as if u r staying in our home and not resort. He is always ready to help the customers in whatever way he could. In our case he helped one of my family member to get Helicopter ticket for Kedarnath at the last moment. In may month it's next to impossible to get ticket on same day but he managed to do so. Special thanks to Chottu (not remember his real name) who is main cook + Service man over there.

We stayed in Monal for 14 days and its a lovely and wonderful place to spend time. We really and highly recommend it. Deependar, the owner, and his Monal-crew are heart-warming people and were very helpful in every situation. The always fresh cooked dinner was very delicious, we hardly couldnt stop eating! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and everything worked very well (power, hot water etc.) Its situated in a quiet area a bit outside of Uttarkashi with a lot of nature and trees around. We have seen a lot of hotels in Uttarkashi but we are sure that Monal is the best place to stay. Deependar also provides different activities such as daytrips, and trekking-tours in the sourrounding mountains. We spent a perfect day in a beautiful valley where we visited a little village and a local school. Later we could bike down the valley. Dear Monal-crew, thank you very much for everything!!

Very well maintained ,clean, beautiful, isolated and peaceful stay. I stayed at this place for a day after the trek to Dayara Bugyal. The owner is very warm and welcoming, staff is very helpful and cordial. Their cafe and library is the best place to spend time , the view from the cafe is amazing. Our dinner was fresh , hot and tasty.

I stayed here in October 2017. Mr. Deependar is very professional, friendly and flexible. I could book everything via email without paying a single penny in advance. He said as I am coming from us can may payments once I arrive there. I had 2 small rooms. Rooms were compact but clean. Reception area/ library had wifi and good view from glass windows. This hotel is not very far from Main temple and market.
