We stayed for one night and our stay had been memorable and wonderful.

The resort is located in a very serene surrounding, overlooking the mountains and river which is very rejuvenating. The rooms are well equipped with modern facilities and amminities and food is too good.

Very nicely maintained gradens and specailly the best part is the crop of apple and strawberry.

Our specail thanks to Mr Bhagendra, who has been extra courteous and Thanks to Mr Ajay Puri - a very passionate owner and director of Resort.

A must visit for peace and luxury.

Thanks. Keep it up

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We came from Barkot for our next destination Gangotri. We had booked a room for 3 adults. The hotel is located on Gangotri highway and on the banks of river Ganges.
Room was spacious and all amenities were available. Staff were helpful and polite. We had booked room with breakfast and dinner which are served on the old building on the 1st floor. Meals were served as buffet with all vegetarian items but on the 2nd day dinner was served on the table. All preparations were excellent and well served.
There was enough parking available for tourists and nice surrounding view. Overall had a great stay and may stay again.

It's s nice place for the location and purpose of visit, we were on way to Gangotri the next day, so it was an overnight stay more with the purpose of resting and not a luxury vacation. It has many rooms that overlook the river, and these re the best rooms, you can sit for hours togather and just watch the river Bhagirathi.... But if you miss the Riverside rooms then also you will find it easy to enjoy the walk in adjacent riverbed...

We stopped here on the way back from Gangotri . I just loved the resort. Big rooms with a big bathroom. With all modern amenities. Very clean. The view of Bhagirathi from the room was lovely. Food was also good . No complains. Very convenient location...on the road to Gangotri.

This is a good place to stay in Uttarkashi. Don't know what the status is now after the floods, but the riverside view and a little bit of lawn in front made for a peaceful setting. I have stayed here twice. A good starting point for Dodi Tal, Kedar Tal, Gowmukh and similar treks. Functional kitchen and restaurant. Compared to a lot of restaurants in Uttarkashi, the food is in this hotel better. Check out the geysers when you check in - they may not work in some rooms. The rates were affordable, but I went both times in the off-season. It is a good 10-15 minutes walk from the township, but that's why I preferred it - Uttarkashi town is pretty noisy. You will get share jeeps also to get to this place.

Room Tip: Try for rooms in the ground floor. A swing and a small lawn comes for free. ;)

The mark of a good hotel is determined by not how they treat their guest when the times are good but how they take care of them when the times are challenging. We were stuck in the Uttarkashi during the recent floods (June 2013) when on a char-dham yatra. We were enroute to Gangotri when we had to return due to heavy rains, landslide and road damage. We stayed in Shivlinga Tourist Complex for five nights. The length of stay was variable as we had no idea how long will it take before the roads to Rishikesh will open. The floods during this time were so severe we saw houses on the opposite bank of Bhagirathi being swept away. There was severe flooding and damage in nearby villages as well.

The staff that works in the hotel instead of fleeing and taking care of their family in nearby villages decided to work 24/7 to take care of the guests staying in the hotel. To give you a perspective: there was no electricity, limited diesel for generators, no fresh supply of LPG cylinders, no new fresh supply of water, and limited rations. Despite of these limitations the cook and the staff ensured that guests received breakfast, lunch, dinner, and morning & evening teas. Each of these meals were prepared with love and care. During this time they ensured that hotel remained clean, the guests tended to, and maintain a positive atmosphere to keep their guests calm. Most importantly, there were rumors that other hotels in the area had jacked up their tariffs by two to three times, Shivlinga decided to maintain their sanity and kept things under check.

It is not easy to smile and keep working when you know that your own house and loved ones might be danger. This is what I consider as epitome of service quality. The owner, Mr. Puri, the manager, and other staff members of the hotel deserve kudos for taking care of their guests when they knew times are tough.

Definitely recommended.

The room was decent but it had no hot shower. The guys are nice and helpful. Great view of the Bhagirathi river. The rooms have classic locks.

Had stayed here years ago and was average but this time the new section was great! Rustic furniture, very clean and comfortable room and the food in the dining room was nice. It was a lovely surprise that in Uttarkashi such a nice hotel could be found. Would definitely stay again.
