Just returned from a enjoyable Christmas break at Hackness Grange. The hotel is a imposing old building built in the early 1800s and is in Hackness village, which is approx 6 miles from Scarborough As previous reviews have stated it is under new management and they have plans to refurbish the Grange. The swimming pool is closed and I understand...

We bought a package for Xmas, starting Xmas Eve afternoon, where we were greeted with afternoon tea. Hotel very comfortable, warm and cosy, and beautifully decorated for Xmas. We had a lovely meal in the evening which started in the bar with champagne and canapes, drinks a plenty in the bar afterwards too. Xmas morning delicous English breakfast, then a...

A previous reviewer has commented on the new owners being in the process of updating the Hotel. it has a touch of faded grandure about it but our room was clean and comfortable .My wife and I stayed here with friends for a mid week break in early December 2012 in the midst of a snow storm. Staff were wonderful,...

New owners are in the process of improving this hotel. Our room in the courtyard was a bit dated but clean, comfortable & warm on a very cold break! The staff, service and food were all excellent. This is a classic country house hotel in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy walking/biking & exploring...

We have stayed at Hackness Grange on several occasions and will definitely go back again if the prices are kept competitive. The main building bedrooms were being refurbished during our stay so we were in the courtyard which was fine by us as it is very quiet. There are new LCD TVs with a good choice of Freeview channels. There...

We arrived in a rainstorm, and left driving through floods, but while in the hotel, we were warm, dry and content! Our room (double in the main house) had windows to the front and side of the house, overlooking the little lake. It was comfortable and attractively decorated, but a bit awkward to plug a hair drier in by the...

Really not a lot else one can say. Food brilliant (both breakfast and dinner), service brilliant, setting brilliant and staff brilliant. Even the price was brilliant!! A wonderful place to go to spend a couple of days away. Close to Scarborough and Whitby and, of course, the Yorkshire Dales.

Our party of 8 stayed last week-end for the 6th year running, which says it all really. The staff are fantastic as is the food, we were all spoilt for choice. When we have stayed previously it's been obvious that the bedrooms needed updating, but it didn't put us off because the hotel suited our needs completely. The new owner...
