I started booking our holiday in Tasmania well before we knew that Covid border restrictions would allow us to go. So I ruled out any accommodation, tours and excursions that did not allow free cancellation. Abs By The Bay was one such place. Once we arrived on the island I looked again at Abs and saw that it seemed far superior to the place I had booked for a similar price. This proved to be a good decision. We stayed in the Skippers cottage and it was really excellent. It had almost everything we needed or could imagine that we might need. The setting is lovely in beautiful gardens and a short stroll down to the bay. We stayed for one night and the following morning it was 12 C and windy when we had breakfast. The only table and chairs are outside and it would have been a hassle to move them inside where there was little room. So we ate sitting on the bed. This is my only criticism of the cottage. It should have been built a little bigger so that there was room for a table and chairs. Too late for that now but the place is just a little bit too small to be perfect.…
Stayed for two nights and couldn’t have picked a better spot.. clean, comfortable and cosy with a friendly and helpful host made this a perfect place to relax . Loved sitting down out the back with a glass of red by the bay watching the sunset... situated close to eagle hawk neck and port Arthur we didn’t have to travel far to see all the wonderful things ... very reasonable price... will be back
We stayed in a lovely, comfortable, compact unit which was very reasonably priced. Set in lovely grounds on the banks of the bay, we were able to sit out at the waters edge and watch the sun go down whilst colourful parrots feasted in the surrounding trees. BBQs were available so it’s wise to stock up before arrival as there are no nearby shops.
A really nice cottage located in a perfect place for exploring the Tasman Peninsula. Everything was sparkling clean, new and comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped. The view outside the cottage is stunning and the hosts are really nice. Definitely recommended!
Abs is the perfect place to stay while your explore the Tasman Peninsular. Quiet peaceful and so welcoming! Lovely clean homely accommodation and the sunsets over the water are spectacular!. Will be back.(again)!
Brent was the perfect host. Our only regret was we only had one night stay here. Such a beautiful and central location right on the water. We had the first unit as you drive in and was small yet perfect, having everything we needed. Comfy bed, large bathroom and microwave and fridge. It was impeccably clean and I would highly recommend to stay here when visiting the area. Would return in a heartbeat.
Good communication with friendly proprietor. The room is nice and spacious for two. It was nice to have a natural skylight into the lounge. Good blinds; air conditioned. BYO washer here. Bathroom large. Lovely and clean. This is a good place to stay
We had a lovely 2 night stay in a 1 bedroom villa (The Deck) and what a gem! The villa was as comfortable as my own home - everything we needed was provided, and the artwork and decorations made the place very "homy". It was spotless, and the paths are pebbled so no sand in or under your shoes. At the rear of the property just metres away is the beautiful Little Norfolk Bay where you can go and watch the sun set - you can even buy a bottle of wine or a beer from the office and take it down to the bench to enjoy watching the sunset! Lynne was extremely friendly and helpful, and a surprise little gift on our departure was a lovely gesture! Would highly recommend.
My partner and I stayed in the "Tasman" self-contained unit. It was everything we needed; kitchen, lounge room, bathroom, bedroom and access to a BBQ. Felt like a home away from home. Brent and Lyn were both lovely and made you feel like family. They also communicated with us well in advance about the location and accomodation. If you do stay on the Tasman Peninsula, remember to bring plenty of food with you as options are limited and booked out well in advance (Brent and Lyn will remind you though and give you eating out suggestions).
Was great to open the door to find cleanliness...... Well laid out units with everything what we needed was there. 3 different sized units, we had all of them booked as there were 8 of us. Friendly owners.
