Great couple, Mae and Hugh, run this establishment. They couldn't do enough to make are stay enjoyable, offering advice and coupons to the chateaus. Huge, clean, comfortable room. Although in a rural area, a little out of the way, it was central for visiting Boise, Chambord, and other chateaus. The plus is that it was very quiet for good sleeping....

The lovely new owners of La Pillebourdiere, Hugh and Mae, are delightful. They made us feel so welcome on our arrival for our two night stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was amazing, overlooking the garden, beautifully decorated and had very welcome tea and coffee facilities after a long drive to the Loire Valley. Breakfast was...

What a start to our grand tour de France. 1st stop Loire Valley. Had a quick Google for a nice b and b located close to the eautiful chateaux in this area and La Pillebourdiere outshone every other by miles. Booked with ease on booking.com (cash payment on leaving). Had a few emails with Sue who is great at communicating...

My friend and I arrived in a downpour for which one of us was poorly equipped, having brought only sandals. Sue (the owner) came out to greet us, was appalled at the inadequate footwear, and immediately located a pair of correctly sized loafers which were worn for the rest of our stay in the Loire Valley (three days). Yes, unfortunately,...

We stayed here to visit the many beautiful chateaus and wineries in the Loire region. Sue is truely wonderful and makes you feel immediately very welcome during your stay in an amazing rebuild/restored farm. Her breakfast is lovely especially the homemade jams. She also gives good advise on day trips or tips for diner using a huge map. We had...

This B&B lives up to its great reviews. As a party of three we were thrilled with our spacious and well appointed room. The B&B is excellently located to visit all the major chateaux in the LoireValley. Of course, our stay was made all the more enjoyable by Sue, who has a wealth of knowledge on the area with advice...

Having read the previous comments, there is nothing more to add except to agree that this is a lovely place to stay. Everything is so right - the building and grounds, the rooms, the breakfast and Sue herself who is a wonderful host who cannot do enough for you. Thanks Sue, for looking after us so well.

I could write volumes about how spacious the room was, how clean the bathroom was, or describe the delicious breakfasts at La Pillebourdiere. It was the not the excellent facilities, however, that made our stay unforgettable, but the owner. Sue is one of these rare personalities who simply like people. She made us feel like we were visiting a friend's...

I stayed at La Pillebourdiere on a trip with friends and we could just not get over how lovely and wonderful this B&B was: the room and bathroom were clean and spacious (which was just what we needed after a stay in a tiny airbnb in Paris) and the area surrounding it was charming. We all said that staying here...
