Just got back from an 8 night stay at the Westin and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel! The staff were so courteous and friendly, the room service was excellent. The rooms are huge and pretty modern and the sea view is AMAZING. We watched the sunsets every night on the balcony.
Pay attention to the reviews when we say YOU ARE SECLUDED. We loved it because we love the privacy but I guess it depends on the experience your looking for. Phuket Town is 15 minute drive and Patong Beach is about an hour drive away. There really isn’t anything within walking distance but if you don’t mind paying for cab or the shuttle the hotel provides then your all good.
The resort itself is beautiful! They have complimentary kayaking/paddle boarding and beach sports and the pools seemed like so much fun. The resort is pretty huge so if you get tired walking easily, then the hotel provides a buggy ride to your room (:
If your looking to relax, then this is the place for you!
- visited in October 2017 - like all Thai people, very welcoming, smiling and happy staff - good SPG recognition - perfect for honeymooners - rooms with private pool - amazing view, over a hill hotel - has a lot of pools like 3-4 with infinity pools included. - a lot of restaurants with different cuisine. - a lot of animals around you ( frogs, monkeys, geckos) due to the nature surrounding. - great breakfast buffet.
booked into a king bed room overlooking the water, and found it reasonably well kept, well supplied with the usual hotel bits and pieces, but with a beautiful arrangement on the bed patterned with flower petals and other plant material. very artistic, and a nice welcome message from the room 'attendant' one of the small nuisances, (due to our age!) was the necessity to ring up for a club car to get anywhere within the hotel as the room was quite a distance up a steep slope from the restaurants and bars. we found the staff superb, very helpful and pleasant the whole stay. The breakfast room staff particularly humorous, and friendly.
Although it’s off the beaten path and away from town, it’s a pretty self sufficient resort. Once you come here you don’t really have to leave. The service is impeccable and the views match. The breakfast buffet, which we weren’t going to do, ended up being the best meal of our day. The Italian restaurant was so-so bit we aren’t in Italy so i shouldn’t expect much. The splash pool was great and we loved not having it overridden with children. When I made the reservations I definitely didn’t pay attention to how far it was from the airport and other scenic things- at least an hour to anyplace worth seeing. The traffic in Phuket is horrendous!
We stayed at the Westin Siray Bay recently and had a really awful experience. On the first day of our stay, we checked into the king suite with a pool and whilst I was modestly clad and pumping (milk), we spotted the pool cleaner climbing over from the unit beside us and into our pool area! The rooms have adjoining pools separated only by a small glass panel. Since that is our PRIVATE area, I was fully not expecting that. There was no notice /sign to say or pool was gonna get cleaned and it was a rude intrusion of privacy. When informed of this, the management had such a blase attitude and offered a spa session for me to 'forget about the incident'. NO sincere apology, no recognition of the brevity of this matter. Although they did offer very minimal compensation in the form of a dinner, the letter was only passed to us after 7pm that day - past dinner time. Having stayed at many SPG properties on our travels, we were shockingly disappointed at the level of service, attitude and the general operations of the hotel. Frills aside, they were not even able to get the basic privacy element right.
