Located on the bank of river Baspa, Hotel Batseri stands like a gem with a very scenic view. The walk from the parking to the hotel was through apple orchards with wild Apricot tress in full bloom. The tall snow covered mountains surround the valley all year round. Every room has a wonderful view of the valley. Inspite of being in such a remote location, the hotel is luxurious with modern amenities. There is WiFi and the phone network is also good, we had Jio and Airtel, both worked well. It's a good place to WFH as well. What really stood out for me was the hospitality. The hosts were really lovely and personally interacted with the guests. The staff was really polite and accommodating. The food was excellent! They set up a bonfire in the night where you can sit under the starry sky and chat with other guests staying there. You can make this as your base and plan your day trips to Rakcham, Chitkul and Sangla. If you are a group of trekkers, there are many treks you can go on from here depending upon the season. Or if you are the chilling kind, it's again perfect for you as you can just go and sit by the river or stroll through the village. There is enough for everyone. They take complete pandemic precautions, from accessible sanitizer stands, to all the staff wearing proper masks, it felt safe. As for the best time to travel I think it would be all year round: Winters to enjoy the snow Spring to see the orchards blooming Summers to simply beat the heat Autumn to see the apple season I really enjoyed the stay and hope to visit again sometime.
