We chose the Chetnole Inn after reading the positive reviews and also for hygiene reasons we did not want to stay in a hotel that allowed dogs in the bedrooms. The Chetnole Inn fully deserves five stars, the owners Simon and Maria, are excellent hosts who make you very welcome. Simon showed us to our room, which was spacious, well...

The Chetnole Inn is set in deepest Dorset and is a true gem. They only have three rooms which makes things intimate but the pub/restaurant area holds many more. Maria and Simon are welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble. Their food is really excellent with a small but delightful menu. Chetnole i-s off the 'beaten track' but well worth...

The Inn is located opposite the churchyard in an attractive village. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable, although a window catch was not attached to the frame. However, the ensuite had a sloping ceiling (a problem for anyone around 6ft), the shower walls appeared not to have been cleaned, there was only one bathrobe, no soap and only...

thank you for taking the time to write a review for the chetnole. I was very dissapointed to read that your stay with us was not perfect. The chetnole is an old coaching inn hence we do have sloping ceilings in one of the bathrooms although the shower, toilet and sink are all positioned in an area of full head...

We had a family break here, my husband and I in one room, and our two daughters across the landing in thier room. Both rooms were spacious, comfy and clean with ensuites bigger than average. We had a fantastic view over the churchyard. The landlady and her husband were great, very friendly, and had delightful, polite children. The breakfasts were...

This is a hidden gem! Bedroom was spacious, clean, and equipped to a high standard. Service is swift, efficient and friendly. Food is local, tasty, and well presented. Car parking is easy . . . and free! The whole experience represents outstanding value for (very) reasonable prices. We'll tell our friends!

We stay in a lot of places and have had mixed experiences of hospitality, but Simon & Maria know exactly what they are doing, do it extremely well and in our view they rate amongst the very best.Their experience shows. A stay at the Chetnole presses all the right buttons. We stayed 3 nights in June and wish we could...

It was such a nice day, we managed to have a drink in the beer garden which was very peaceful & in the evening found everybody very friendly to talk with in the bar. A very comfortable base in Dorset to explore the surrounding area. Chetnole is a beautiful little village just to the south of Sherborne, making it very convenient for Bridport and Dorchester as well. Sadly we could only stay one night and as it was a Sunday the restaurant was closed but breakfast was very fine indeed, and the welcome from...
