The room we stayed in was clean and well furnished with tea and coffee making facilities (filter coffee not instant). We were in the Henchard which had twin beds and en suite shower / toilet. The room overlooks the pretty village church and grounds. Everyone mentions the food in their reviews and for good reason as it is every bit...

Many occasions when I go out for a pub meal I'm usually dissapointed but the Chetnole Inn is a real find. The chef certainly knows how to source quality ingredients and how to put them together without too much fuss, the mark of a true foodie ! If you enjoy fresh food, well cooked and all for a very reasonable...

Now I have stayed here before and I also have read the latest adverse review. We came back but this time en famille.....could the pub that was so good last year have slumped so far? Perhaps there was a change of ownership? Perhaps the owners had regressed to bumbling buffoons who could not manage a pub? Perhaps the latest reviewers...

Have been to the Chetnole Inn on a number of occasions and each time the disappointment has got worse. As it was one of the better pubs in the area food was just acceptable but today's experience was the icing on the cake and deserves this poor review. Today we decided to test the Bar Snacks and each ordered "Sauteed...

Wow! It's not often I am at a complete loss for words upon reading a review, but I have to admit, momentarily, I was speechless! I really feel I must reply to this, what can only be described as a stinging and caustic review as honestly and quite frankly, politely as I can. I do indeed remember your trio coming...

The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner I had and the breakfast was lovely too! I thought the ambience in the bar/dining area was just right with the warmth and glow from the wood burner and the lovely original flagstones on the floor. My room was well proportioned with a sofa to relax...

Cycled here and were made very welcome. Atmosphere excellent with locals in the bar and served up a rather nice walkers lunch as we sunk into the comfy leather sofa chair. They renamed the walkers lunch to Cyclist lunch which consisted of a mug of soup of the day), sandwiches and chips. At £9.95 we were very happy. I imagine...

We've visited the Chetnol Inn before, but went back for my wife's birthday. Attentive staff, excellent food beautifully cooked and presented made it a lovely evening. Chetnol is not on the main road to anywhere, but well worth while finding out, lovely ambiance and Marie and Simon superb hosts.
