Even though the weather was not really good, the Runswick Bay Hotel is a lovely place to stay, especially if you're travelling with dogs. The bar area is cozy, the staff very friendly and no matter what weather, the dogs are allowed to be with you all the time (of course except the restaurant). The rooms are a bit... (odd... More

We stayed a few weekends at the Runswick Bay Hotel in both May and June 2016. We were allocated the family room (room 3) which delighted my children as they got to fight over who got "top bunk". It had some lovely views out towards the village of Runswick Bay. All the staff made a huge effort to make us... More

This time we weren't staying here as we rented a cottage in the village but,we had a lunch and an evening meal here. The quality was as good as ever and the welcome just as warm as we remember for us and our Great Dane! We cannot speak highly enough of the things Simon and his staff have achieved here... More

We stayed at the fabulous Firs Guesthouse and were recommended this hotel to eat. Given it was the end of a long hard day the welcome was most appreciated. The staff really made an effort to accommodate our requirements... by the end of the evening we were firm friends... Steph set the standard but Hayley and Tom delivered. We were... More

We stayed as 2 couples, one with a dog. A lovely and friendly place in an excellent location for exploring the Whitby area without the hustle and bustle of Whitby itself. Staff cannot do enough for you, always a smile and great service. The rooms are comfortable and well presented. The breakfast good and the evening meals are excellent. Nice... More

Perched at the top of the steep drop to Runswick Bay sits this wonderful hotel. We had decided to spend an extra night in the area and so booked this hotel since we decided it looked more hosplitable than other nearby establishments, and what an excellent decision it was. After an evening stroll down to the bay and a pint... More

We were staying at the nearby campsite and this hotel provided both a place to have a quiet drink and a very pleasant meal. The staff were very friendly and there was 2 bars and a restaurant, although you could have food in any room as well as outside. The hotel is also dog friendly, although they are not allowed... Lovely setting. Car parking next to the pub. Very busy on my visits, though staff were swift in their service so didn't have to wait for long for my drink. A lot of customers having meals. Again when I ordered I didn't have to wait long for food to arrive. All pleasant. Could even take food out as take a... More

Staying with our daughter and her family at the local campsite. Had an early evening meal at this hotel to celebrate her birthday. Very friendly staff,Steph in particular. Super food served promptly. Very necessary when there are young children in the party.
