This hotel has a superb location overlooking Runswick Bay one of the most beautiful spots on the Yorkshire coast. We visit probably once or twice a year and always enjoy a delicious sandwich and drink overlooking the bay sat outside on the picnic tables. We have never stayed there but if the well appointed bar is anything to go by...

We stayed at the Cliffemount Hotel on our 3rd visit, in May. Sadly the Hotel hasn't kept up to the very high standards we experienced on our two previous visits. The position of this Hotel is one to die for but the huge garden, set with many outdoor picnic tables, overlooking the amazing view over Runswick Bay, needs tidying up...

We have not stayed at The Cliffemount, but have recently dined there at lunchtimes and in the evenings. The outside garden seating are is quite large, with excellent views overlooking Runswick Bay. In the evenings we ate in the bar area of the hotel as we have two dogs. The food was exceptionally good and well priced for the quality,...

The hotel is very good,we had a ground floor room with the greatest view you could wish for.The room was very clean, the bed was cumfy we also had a small veranda. The breakfast was excellent,it even included food for our canine friend. Runswick bay is beautiful, well worth a visit. I thought the hotel was quite expensive, but it was a special...

We stayed here for our anniversary and it was fantastic. The only reason I haven't given five stars is because the bathroom in our room needs decorating. ( however I have seen in comments below there doing things up). The mirror in our bathroom was way to high, I know am small but even my husband couldn't see in it....

We stayed there over the weekend for a minibreak. We hadn't booked a seaview room but were pleasantly suprised to find we had a beautiful one looking over Runswick bay. The room was lovely and big, with plenty of space. For the price we paid we thought it was really good value. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast...

Stayed for 2 nights leaving the 22nd April. This is a lovely hotel with a fantastic staff. My husband has a food allergy and the chef did everything to avoid him being poorly. We were in room 4 and the view of the bay was stunning. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. Again thanks to the...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights just before Easter. The room is fantastic with a massive bed and outside balcony with stunning views over the cliff. There is nothing whatsoever I can fault with the room it was superb. The rest of the hotel is a tiny bit dated but it shows a lot of character and...

My partner & I ate here following pre-dinner drinks. The dining area is clean and well laid out with a beautiful view over the bay. If you have a dog you would eat in the bar area, but this feels to be part of the dining room rather than being sat in the bar. We had two courses from the...

What a great stay at this beautiful situated hotel .Laughed from start to finish a bit of banter with the staff (faulty towers ). Would recommend this place and will go back again but keep in mind it is a very quiet location with little around it within walking distance but the beach was amazing even worth the oxygen you...
