We walked 20+ kilometers to Givet from Dinant, and were more than ready for a hot shower and a relaxing evening. What we got was a hotel that was closed. We were given keys and access codes via telephone, and found we were the only living souls in the place. Our room (the "famiy suite") was large and clean, if a little worn.
There was a pot to boil water for tea, but no electrical outlets to plug it into...we figured it out. But when I ran the water for a shower... NO HOT WATER. And yes, we tried everything! I phoned the mystery voice, and was told there is nothing he can do to fix it.

Promised wheelchair access but there is a large step at entrance. There is a portable ramp but this is not easy to use.
Breakfast was slow and some food was not fresh.
Staff were friendly and helpful when they were present but not always there and clearly not trained in hospitality.
On the last morning we were woken by the cleaner entering our room at 0715 then having a loud argument for next 30 minutes with her colleagues as she clearly thought we had gone.
Some electric sockets in rooms don’t work and some showers weren’t hot.
As mentioned, staff on site were friendly and helpful - clearly the problem is absent and disinterested owners.

After cycling 100 km, I arrived exhausted at 6 p.m. and the hotel was unfortunately full. Sensitive to my distress, the manager went out of his way to find a solution and had a very nice room prepared, normally not available, in which there was a slight technical problem of no importance to me.
