Blue Poppy resorts in Auli has 24 wooden huts with modern facilities. The Blue poppy resort is located as most beautiful location in Auli. You can visit anytime during the year and you will be greeted with different type of landscapes according to the season of visit. You can see clouds in monsoon season, snow slopes in winter season and clear peaks in summer season. All the huts in the resort provide you a 180 degree view of the higher peaks like Hathi, Ghoda, Palki and Nanda Devi. This is the only resort in Auli which is motor able and Nada Devi is visible. Our whole resort is constructed in alpine wood like Chid, Deodar and Raga. You will feel very nice fragrance of wood in the room. Apart from toilet floors and some pathways we did not use cement in our resort to protect the nature. This is heaven for birdwatchers as well. You can see lot of beautiful birds near the resort. We serve homely food and cook as per daily requirement. We never serve stale food.

My booking started by direct interaction with owner of the property and was kind enough of to share all details with regards to availability and booking and had also helped us book vehicles for the trip & the refernece vehicle was also cooperative in the trip. You need to climb close to 100 stairs right on check-in but the boys were swift enough to get our luggages in no-time. We were welcomed with much needed tea as the temp was close 3degrees and checkin procedure went smooth. We were assignment a person to whom we can contact 24*7 for any concerns. We had booked 3 family rooms and it was all clean and maintained ones with an amazing view from the upper deck. As they have a common hot water boiler for the property you might have to call for that than getting it directly into ur washroom lines. That kind of was thumbs down but wasnt a big trouble as on call it was available in 5-10mins. As we are jain family we are always concerned with food whenever we trAvel but surprisingly their entire food arrangement were jain during breakfast and dinner, delicious food and no repeats. Everything was serves hot and a coal fire was arranged inside the restaurant to keep us and the hands warm while eating which was quite a detail service as bon fire isnt allowed in auli. On the second day we had shifted to triple sharing, rooms were good like earlier but in one of the rooms the entire western toilet closet came off the floor and fell down and we had informed the same to management then they had screwed it down and again in few hours it came off the and the entire washroom was flooded with dirty water and room was stinking, couldnt stay inside. We insisted change of room but we werent given any and instead room was cleaned and they coudlnt fix it so everyone shared the washroom of the other rooms for the whole day. That was the only big issue in our stay for which i give 1 star down. Property is quite near to the ropeway and u can just directly hop in to go for trekking or ski than hopping into a car and going up hill. This was helpful as we were very tired to walk anywhere after the trek. Rest our check out went smooth and in whole a good experience with Blue Poppy Resort auli.

We stayed here in Feb 2020 end. There was plenty of snow around the rooms and in Auli. The resort rooms have almost everything that one would need at a cold place like this. There is a room heater, hot water kettle, ample blankets, electricity back-up etc. The staff is courteous and quite helpful. The ski point and cable chair station is barely 50m from the resort which makes the resort an location. Couple of things on which they can work on are - room water heaters are missing, path to higher located rooms which is extremely slippery owing to the snow everywhere should be maintained. The resort can consider building some hand supporters on the edge with the help of which people can support themselves while climbing back to their rooms, reaching the ski-spot , restaurants etc. Also, the resort needs to lit the pathway from Family rooms to the restaurant. We found it difficult and had to use phone torches to ensure we arn't stepping on melted snow to avoid slipping.

By far the best accommodation available in Auli. The view from this place is mesmerizing and you can spend days together at this location just to enjoy the views and the mountains. Nanda Devi and the other peaks visible from the balcony of the rooms provides a sense of serenity. The rooms and the washrooms are clean and you feel happy and safe to have such good courteous staff who ensure that all your needs are addressed. The food is awesome and they cater to any request that we have in the best possible way. This place is run in a very professional way by Devkant and his wife and they made me feel at home with their hospitality. They even helped me to get medicines from Joshimath. Overall an excellent experience and highly recommended.

We stayed at Blue poppy on 2nd and 3rd January. While booking this hotel i read previous reviews which were not great still i thought to give a try.
Cons:
1:It had snowed previous day and the way up the hotel was very slippery. In previous many reviews it was written the way to the hotel was not safe still the owner of the hotel has not paid any heed to this. They charge so much and despite the complains nothing has been done about the path. I dnt think it would cost so much to pave the path and add railings.
2: because it was so cold and snowing the water supply was not there in the rooms. They provided water in buckets. I feel the amount they are charging from people and the guests they are getting in numbers i m sure they can connect a boiler with all the rooms and give proper facilities.
Pros:1: location and view from the rooms.
2: helpful staff.
3: electric blankets in room

Food: Buffet was offered with limited choices but it's ok considering how remote the location is. Atleast the taste of food was good .
Lastly I would say if u r looking for luxury then this is not the right hotel and place for you.
Food, tv and other facilities can be overlooked considering the location being remote. But there is no excuse for not providing basic facilities ie water in washrooms. And a proper walking path till the hotel.
Despite such reviews the owner has shown least interest in wrking on basic things.

We visited Auli in Feb-20. We had a stay of 2 nights at Blue Poppy. Everything about it was so beautiful and efficient.

Their strengths are excellent location, poetic views from the windows, a huge variety of lip smacking food, cosy cottages, necessary accessories like electric room heaters and electiclly heated blankets and a prompt and helpful staff. The availability of water for non-drinking purposes was however limited, which is understandable. It was still surprising how they could manage so many resources at such an inaccessible and remote place.

I am really happy that my tour operator chose them. I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

Make sure that your driver will drop you at Auli. Generally they want to stay at Joshimath which is about 15 km before Auli and then everything is very inconvenient or costly till reaching the hotel. Be ready to shell out 2000 Rs for local drivers to reach Auli from Joshimath.

We stayed in Blue Poppy resorts for three nights in August 2021 and were very impressed with the staff, the rooms and even with the owner.

As we entered the hotel,we saw that manager was very nice and professional and told us very clearly that if we needed anything, we could just call him.

Blue Poppy rooms were very large and the beds were extremely comfortable with clean bedsheet and pillows. The whole room is made of wood , due to which the room looked even more beautiful. Separate toilet and bathroom make it more convenient.
Absolutely beautiful place to be at. You get the finest views of the peaks and the ranges from here. You can enjoy Himalayas view from your room. The surrounding was very beautiful with a antic look. The combination of dinning room with food and music was great and make me more crazy.

The guide who went with Gorson Buggyal was very nice and helpful. We had a rough idea of where we wanted to go but guide was the one who made it happen. He got us on a trolly to the lake, where we felt in heaven. That was little expensive but well worth the amount we paid. Guide took care of all . Totally amazing and wonderful.

We have recommended this hotel to others and would stay here again if we ever came back to Auli.(Narender Tomar, delhi)

The Resort is just at the perfect place, everything(skiing spot, auli lake, food stalls) is nearby within walking distance.

I booked a hut, the interior of it was beautiful (see the pic), you could see all the mountains, snowy peaks from the glass window. Everything is available inside from sleepers, blankets, pillows, heater, soap, shampoo, towel, water heater
.. and everything else.

There is a food facility nearby which had buffet for dinner and breakfast those were included with my bookings.
For lunch or snack or warm water, you could call a guy who will deliver anything you want at your warm beautiful hut.

We originally booked our stay for 3 nights in Blue poppy resorts. But we liked it so much that we decided to extend our stay. The food is good. They serve decent variety of food in buffet breakfast and dinner. We made a mistake of booking with Make my trip. The price of booking directly is far better. The rooms have proper room heater, power back up by big 80 KW generator. In extreme cold conditions these guys turn no stone un-turned to provide you best possible service. The best part is view from the room and rooms are made up of wood. Rooms are decent and clean with nice beautiful view. I wish I could come again here during snow fall. Gorson is a must do trek guys

My bad experience with this place began and ended even before I stayed with Blue Poppy. They have provided a number on their website to manage bookings of some Ms Manisha, who does not even know the H of hospitality and is rudeness personified. I was to book for a stay 4 days away from the date, and I had categorically told her I was coming for my first wedding anniversary. I confirmed that I would be coming and asked her to block, after which she stopped replying. I got in touch again and she asked for a 50% advance but I said I would only be able to pay at the property and if I could speak to a giver authority regarding this. She refused to give me the number and spoke so rudely saying “there is no other number, if you want to stay you have to pay 50%”, making it sound like extortion. Then she told me her policy which said “As per our Policy you need to pay full amount if you are booking before 15 days or before week”. I told her my stay was 4 days and not a week away, so she can excuse her policy here or at least take an approval, but she did not bother to talk. Such is the experience Blue Poppy gave me when I said I’d like a beautiful stay for my first anniversary. If it starts like this, don’t know how bad it will be at the resort. Posting screenshots for all to see.

Dear Sonali, Sorry for the inconvenience, but try to understand that unless a guest pays a minimum of token amount we can not guarantee the accommodation. This is peak season for Auli and we can not block a room without advance amount. We have done it in past and suffered huge losses. In June 2019 we blocked 4 rooms for 4 nights and guest paid only 10 percent of total amount. He cancelled at the last moment. We said no to many other customers but could not fill up the rooms. We already burnt our hands. We can not accept the booking without advance. As far as service is concerned you never availed them. We would love to serve you in future if you come to Auli we welcome you. Please understand our point as well. Advance amount is not extortion madam, it is seriousness and confirmation of the booking.

This is very nice hotel in Auli. We took cable car followed by chair car to reach the place. There is access through roads as well. However, I am not sure till where does it reach.

Rooms:
They have different options for room ranging from couple to family (around 5). We were lucky to get a room with a really good view. All of them are designed to provide a good view but since one hut is behind another one on same level, it often blocks the best view. We stayed in a couple room. The room and washroom size is adequate. Lot of sockets are available (which is a plus). There are two big windows which allows you to get a really good view of the mountains from the inside of the room as well. All the rooms have porch which is really nice. The rooms are equipped with portable heaters. However, geysers are not there. Hot water is provided in the morning for bath (brought in by someone). Rooms are like wooden huts.

Food:
The food is decent. However there is a lot of room for improvement there. Some of the items had too much oil (semiya, noodles). Desserts like suji halwa was really good. Good varieties of breads (chapatis) are served hot. It's mostly buffet but if something is needed, it can be ordered.

Service:
The service was exceptional! Abhishek had been really helpful. On the day of arrival, he called before hand to help with the arrival at the hotel. After the arrival through the chair car, he had sent someone (Ranjit) to pick up the luggage to reach the hotel. Ranjit was the person to reach out for anything and he had been really helpful as well.
