We have just returned from a two night Christmas break at the Cartwright Hotel and had a fantastic time. The Hotel is quirky and interesting but still very comfortable and most importantly every member of staff that we met was unfailingly friendly, welcoming and helpful despite working long hours over Christmas. In addition all of the meals that we had...

We hosted my mother's 80th birthday yesterday in the Apricot Room & it was just perfect. There were 53 of us in total & the room was a perfect size with nice character, helped by its orientation onto the courtyard & attractive entrance porch. From the initial enquiry to the final departure, everything was handled brilliantly by Caroline & her...

This was a group booking for our yearly Christmas dinner. The starter and main selections was very good but very disappointing when considering the sweet selection. Strawberry profiterole looked like an "angel delight" mix and the pecan pie pastry was very hard. The cheese and biscuits was the best option. A very good venue, nice room and ambiance, pity about...

Lovely experience all around. They were attentive to whatever I needed, responded intstantly to clean the room when I called to say the room had not been cleaned--even though it was my fault for leaving the Do Not Disturb sign on the door by mistake. Food was delicious and well-priced. Charming old English architecture on the outside, modern, clean rooms...

We called in for lunch at random (there was a space along the road to park a motorhome as we were passing). There was a warm welcome from the receptionist and from the bar staff. We had "open sandwiches", served with salad and chips and both were excellent, as was the coffee.

This was our second stay at the Cartwright to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was even better than our first! You can be assured of a very friendly welcome and service throughout. The room and bed were exceptionally comfortable and warm and the food was delicious - especially the Chateaubriand. The staff genuinely remembered us from a year ago and...

We stayed for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, the room was tiny but comfortable enough if a little tired and grubby in areas. The bathroom layout was long and down some steps which when you are not used to and using in the middle of the night can be a little hazardous. The rooms also are upstairs and...

Stayed here for one night prior to a visit to Bicester Shopping Village on the recommendation of a friend. Thought that we would never get there as our Satnav took us down every byeway in Oxfordshire. Arrived to a tepid welcome, perfectly polite and professional but not particularly warm. Not shown to the bedroom. Very quirky upstairs with stairs and...

Stayed here for two nights as part of a larger booking - wedding to attend. First impressions were excellent warm greeting from the receptionist Liliya I believe, from then it's all a question of detail, the room at the end of the converted stables was small (not warranting the price paid), the bathroom smaller and the location of the heated...
