Detailed Reviews
The place of complete relaxation and recharge. The place where you never want go home.
The hospitality of Kinga and her colleagues, the small and invisible attentiveness. The perfect breakfast and excellent dinners, not to mention the afternoon cookies. The professional knowledge and humility of the entire Hertelendy team, the environment that fits a fairy tale, the beautiful and comfortable rooms ensure the experience, which is why we warmly recommend everyone to visit the castle.

I attended a high quality business meeting held at the fabulous Hertelendy Castle. The Castle is in a wonderful setting and easy to find. The staff is infinitely helpful, kind, smiling and prepared. From my arrival to my departure, I felt like they were always and only there when they were needed, paying attention to everything and everyone. The food served is made from quality ingredients, is healthy and especially very delicious. So much so that I even asked for a recipe for one of their pies. Rose poems shone in all the rooms. They were so beautiful and perfectly shaped, at first glance I thought they were artificial flowers. As I got closer, I saw all real live flowers. I learned they were from their own garden. It was a wonderful experience to spend my whole day there.

Hertelendy Castle is like something from another world! As soon as you arrive, you feel like you're on a cloud. Beautiful rooms, excellent food and very attentive service are just as much a given as the beautiful spa area and the fantastic pool as well as the cozy kelo sauna in the beautiful park! Your every wish is anticipated and Kinga watches over everything! We would like to thank everyone for the unforgettable stay!

After a very warm welcome - Kinga Kiss is a perfect host - we entered the exclusive and wonderful world of Hertelendy Suite. We enjoyed our holidays in the Spa, the Kelo Sauna, the pool and made a great carriage ride. We also would like to thank the very attentive stuff of the restaurant.
Thank you all for making our stay to such a great experience!

The castle is an absolute haven of recreation and hospitality. The charming Ginka Kiss and her team read practically every wish from the eyes of the guest. The whole complex is beautifully maintained and just beautiful. I will definitely fly there again and am already looking forward to it. Only small review: For very discerning connoisseurs, the kitchen, although at painstaking level, does not quite match the other top offer of the castle.

How the whole team has organized everything is incredible. Everything was communicated only by email and yet it fit perfectly.
No, it was actually better than planned.
The hotel itself is like something out of a fairy tale. The service tops everything.

From the moment we arrived we were given the red carpet treatment. A warm welcome that extended throughout our 6 day stay. The room was spacious, modern but still classical and in style with the period building. The setting of the Hotel is postcard picturesque. Meals were very well prepared, served and delicious. The Spa and outside Finnish Sauna were a pleasurable experience. We really cannot find fault in this Hotel. It was amazing in every way and we will certainly return. Thank You to all the lovely staff that made our short holiday so incredible.

I enjoyed all the facilities especially your Skeet and Shooting Range. The pool and grounds were well maintained. Food was good with a good selection of wines and drinks. Rooms were very comfortable. The spa was also very relaxing and the massage service was great.

Far from the madding crowd----far from everywhere. It was a truly lovely get away. This hotel is about two and a half hours from Budapest. Has to be a destination resort--otherwise you would never find it. Once you are here--no where to go, but you wouldn't want to. We had a beautiful suite (so glad I didn't find out until later how incredibly expensive it was). This is the only Relais & Chateau hotel in Hungary and very special. When we arrive I thought the hotel seemed very formal, but actually, there was a casual elegance all around. The grounds are magnificent and a lot of things to do including horse back riding, skeet shooting, bike riding, carriage rides. The pool beautiful, with perfect thermal water. The first night we were there they had a barbeque and horse drawn carriage rides. Next day palinka tasting and after dark star gazing with an astronomer. I have never seen a night sky like that before.
Of course, we were lucky as the weather was fantastic. Had it been raining we would probably have gone insane with little to do.
Guests were very friendly--most from Germany or Hungary. Went out of their way to speak English with me. Several of the Germans flew in with personal planes. Along with the private airfield there is a helicopter landing.
The food was good--not fantastic. The chef also very attentive and personally interacted with the guests.
This was a once in a lifetime destination---made for some very nice memories.

Superb complex set in a beautiful location.
The hotel is closed throughout the winter which may explain why they charge what they do making up for their loss during closure.
Staff very professional and attentive. Particularly the lady on reception.
Spa. Facilities in the basement of the hotel were very nice and clean.
On our first night we stayed in a room on the ground floor only to be woken at 7am by screaming kids running riot up and down the corridor outside the room. This is how i'm able to testify as to the poor soundproofing for rooms on the ground floor. By 08.30am we could hear conversations as the mother of the unruly children chatted to her friend nursing a crying baby in the corridor outside of the room opposite.
After the rude awakening we were offered a room upstairs which was quieter and more to our expectation.
Complimentary champaign in the fridge was a nice touch
Breakfast on the three mornings we stayed was good. However, I elected to order porridge and an omelette as I saw flies buzzing around the room where the adjoining breakfast buffet was laid out.
Dinner was tasty on the three nights we ate at the hotel restaurant however I would have expected the menu to change daily. Had we been staying longer I'd have been short on variety of choice from the menu.
The wine list was comprehensive with steep pricing.
The place is very expensive and i think you'd get better value for money at the Kempinski in Budapest.
