Hi! Today I'm sharing with the Trip Advisor community my review about Astre Vue resort and I had stayed in this resort from 13th April 2022 to 16th April 2022. Let me start by asking, is it the stay that matters the most or the place you've visited or a balance of both? For me it's about exploring the place and being a traveler. But when you pay a hefty amount for something and do not get the basics, it puts me off. I'll divide this review into pros and cons and let you know my outlook of this resort. Pros: 1. The staff members working in the food and room service departments are the ones putting in some real effort and by staff members I do not mean the ones managing them, but the ones who are actually putting food on your table and cleaning your rooms. There was a buffet system only on the last day of my stay, before that orders were being taken individually from guests and there were only 2 people from the kitchen staff who had to make several runs for so many guests. But from my point of view they did their job fine and it was hard on them also considering the guest capacity of this resort and the profit that the owner is making in return. My point being is that, either maintain a proper buffet system or hire more staff so that they are not overloaded by individual requests from the guests. During my stay, when I left the resort for nearby places and came back later, I got my room clean and organized. 2. Food is something that is based on individual liking and not something that can be judged based on reviews. I'm sharing my feedback for the food, but I would strongly urge people reading this review not to go purely by what I'm saying. Yes you may take a cue from my review, but it should not be that if I said something good or bad then it definitely is going to be. Your thinking and liking may be different from mine. Do not set very high expectations for the food here. This is a resort located in a village area meant to be a resort and not some 4 star or 5 star hotel. The spices in the food are balanced, will suit most palates and is also suitable for the kids and elderly. It is every thing basic and minimal like dal, roti, rice, "ALOO"(remember you're in Uttarakhand). But the food is hygienic, is nicely cooked and will fill your stomach properly. Like I said before, keep your expectations down to a minimum just like the owner should be keeping the resort prices (no pun intended). 3. The glass house. The resort has a nice glass house wherein the food is served for the guests. It is a decent sized glass house, which can house around 18-20 guests at a time. The highlight of this area is that one side overlooks the hills of Gumkhal village and from the other side you can peek at the garden, lawn and some cottages. The only downside is lack of proper ventilation in the glass house. 4. Some areas of the property are well maintained, such as the garden, lawn and the glass house. Variety of flowers have been placed all around and there is good grass cover in the property. 5. Some basic infrastructural necessities such as intercom facility in rooms, lighting within the premises of the resort, wheelchair access, fencing and guard rails are well taken care of. 6. Some of the staff is courteous, generous and polite. Cons: 1. Rooms. I haven't seen any other rooms in the resort except for 2 premium rooms which I had booked for my family. So my review is going to be for these 2 premium rooms only. My rooms were the ones located right at the parking of the resort, one above another. The ground floor premium room is a disaster for the price I had to pay. The room has a wooden door with holes in it, cracked mica and a shabby look. The walls have cracks, dampness and occasional black patches. I haven't seen anything before like the blinds in this room. It is just a piece of simple cloth with steel pipes put in between and they don't even completely stick to the windows, which is an issue when it comes to privacy. Be careful when rolling up or down these blinds as they are attached like a Velcro and may fall off easily. 2. The flooring in the room is also not well maintained and easily attracts dust and stains. The bed sheet, blankets and pillow covers are not fresh and soft. There were patches of stains visible on my blanket and in some parts it was a bit dirty. 3. The bathroom was decent and clean, however the wash basin had a big crack in it which is not a good thing to look at when you are paying a hefty price for your stay. On the first day water was leaking from the commode, for which I had to ask them on the reception to get it fixed. It was fine for sometime but after that the problem started once again. The towel placement rack was just above the commode which is a very hazardous place and your clothes and towel might just fall directly into the pit. 4. The room right above me was in a much better condition, and the bathroom was also well maintained than the other one. However, the material they have used to construct the room is very low quality. Being on the first floor you can enjoy the best weather, wind speeds and views in the balcony and within the resort premises outside the rooms, but within the room it gets very warm and suffocated. It's as if the outside temperature is 23-24 degree Celsius and inside the room it would be like 30 degrees. The same problem of blinds continues to this room as well. One of the blinds behind the bed did not even open and was completely stuck, and that window directly overlooked the valley with a sunset view (which we couldn't enjoy). 5. A few extra things need to be taken care of. The chairs in the balcony are a bit old and in a bad shape. Might be comfortable for the younger ones but not for the elderly. Better tables can be arranged in the room as per height and reachability for convenience. 6. The rooms are located right next to the parking and resort entrance. Some construction work is going on there, so you might see some workers behind this room passage. You might not like sitting in the balcony of the room when there are many guests and cab drivers around. Also, the main window of the ground floor room overlooks the trees and the valley behind but is kind of a bummer since it connects with the entry passage of the resort and you may see people roaming around there from time to time. 7. Last but not the least, the famous forest fires of Uttarakhand. This place is no exception. The fire comes so close to the resort that the premium rooms at the entrance become a nightmare. On 15th April 2022 I witnessed this thing first hand, when all the cars were removed from the parking area and part of the parking area was burnt by it. In just under an hour a complete area of green grass cover turned into charcoal black and all that smoke was being inhaled by us. To conclude, I'd say this resort has it's hits and misses, but the infrastructure and services offered by the resort need serious improvements for the price you are paying during peak season. The current price quoted by the resort is not at all justified. Secondly, I have seen some of the guests lose their patience at junior staff members during my stay. The staff members are not the ones who are going to improve the overall quality of this resort, it's up to the owner. And mind you the owner stays in the resort itself and did not even once come in front to take the blame or hear feedback or responses from the customer. I hope my review let's you make a thoughtful decision, so that you can enjoy the good points about this resort and have a happy time there. Also make a note of the shortcomings and let the owner and staff members aware about it.

The resort is good and well maintained. It is not in Lansdowne and it is in Gurkhal. You will need around 14km traveling to reach Lansdowne from it. Sunrise and Sunset views are good from the resort. The only drawback we noticed is the room size(9*9 FT), we book Super duplex room because we are traveling with kids and Hotel Staff provide us with the smallest room in the resort. The room has barely any space for walking.

Stayed here recently with a group of family friends. Selected this place with the help of reviews here. As we reached the place the first thing came to our mind was WOW. We had 5 rooms booked for us. In short following are the pros and cons of the place. PROS: 1. It has amazing 360 degree view of nature. Cant expect better then this. its on hill top so when weather supports you are above clouds. We saw sunrise and believe me it was the best I had seen. 2. Away from town so no disturbance was there. Here You and only your family can feel the togetherness. 3. Restaurant . Yes we spend most of our time sitting in the restaurant. It is beautiful glass house. One can enjoy nature while enjoying delicious food over there. Yes fooding was superb. Staff prepare food according to your taste. Above all it was economical too. 4. Staff . Yes staff led by Manager was very co-operative. They always try to help you in the best possible way. CONS: 1. Stay. Rooms allotted were too small. They must had thought while assigning rooms. They gave us 4 rooms on upper floor and one on ground. That was a 8 rooms set . Too small rooms and lack of total privacy. Walls were so thin that we can hear the voice of 4th room from the 1st. Apart from that they need proper renovation. In such cold weather Hot water was a problem too. Although on our request they immediately change our ground floor room to a better 208. But that also had some issues like dampness on the roof. but Still if you are nature lover then these things are secondary. 2. Drivers accomodation. Yes that cost us more then we expected. They first asked its 500 per person for dormitory. I agreed that . They gave them room next to us which was not comfortable for any one As we mentioned above lack of privacy factor. In the final bill they charged 1000/- per driver apart from meals . Meals were chargeable too. When ask they said they thought that room would be better then dormitory. If they want to be nice then we must inform earlier And what was the sense of giving rooms to them just next to us. 3. Game room. They have good set up in activity room. Many type of games were there. But most them are in bed condition. Pool balls and stick are dameged, carrom board was also not in proper working condition.

True to its name, Aster Vue is the perfect abode under the stars if you are visiting Lansdowne. An extremely courteous staff, good food, comfortable rooms... Away from the Lansdowne city's noise and traffic, yet just a stone's throw away in case you are missing the crowd. This was my second visit to Aster Vue and I will be back soon. Winter night feature a campfire and live guitar and soulful music. Never seen the night sky so clearly. Thank you Gurpreet ji for the help during our stay there. Do carry your warm jackets as the temperature can dip suddenly in the evening with strong cold winds blowing.

If a peaceful stay is on your mind, this is the place to be! The property is located far from the city so there's zero noise and light pollution. On clear sky nights you could see the almighty starry sky! This property has a 360 degree view of beauty and serenity. The place is built itself to be a beauty with one of the best restaurants which serves in views and amazing food! They also have an indoor game room, which will surely keep the kids engaged. They have an in-house musician with a beautiful voice, (A request to the property owner Mr. Yash for a dreamy musical time might help!). We had a great conversation with Mr. Yash, which was pretty memorable! Looking forward to visiting again! The rooms are in fine condition considering this place is always busy with visitors! The staff is really friendly and keen on providing the best service! Do visit If you need some quality time with your loved ones and by yourself, you'll be amazed by the peace and quiet!

Firstly the location of the property could'nt be better! This property is located far from the city bustle! If peace is on your mind this is the place to be. The rooms are in fine condition, considering how busy this place usually is with visitor's, you'll find every single facilty and more here. The property owner Mr. Yash is very knowledgeable do look forward to an enlightening conversation If you find him there, and all the staff are really friendly and we were surprised with a bonfire with amazing music and a dreamy time by yash sir(again a request might make that happen for you!) They have a beautiful restaurant which beats most of the popular Delhi one's because of it's surrounding views, food and interior! They also offer destination wedding facility, so reach out to the property management, If you want a memorable ever after!

We spent a beautiful weekend there. The resort is an excellent choice if one wants to be away from the pandemonium of the city. From our balcony we could see the snow capped Himalayas and the view was amazing. The resort can really be proud of their friendly and hospitable management and staff. We were pampered during our stay.

We stayed at Hotel Astre Veu from 28th Nov to 30th Nov for 2 nights... It ia located in Gumkhal area of Lancedowne... Very Location away from rush and very beautiful views of Himalayas and vallies... Best plave to see sunrise and sunset.. #Location Around 30 mins drive from main Lancedowne Market and view points.. If you are looking for some quality peaceful time then this is the place for you.. #Rooms Comfortable Basic Rooms.. ..some minor improvements required in room to enhance the experience...a little cramped washrooms..faded plastic chairs in the balcony can be replaced with wooden ones. #Staff Very helpful and supportive staff. Special mention of Moni Mam and Amit Ji and Kishore Ji Always willing to help. Gurpreet Ji - General Manager was very prompt in communication for booking and helped a lot in offering change of room. We were not offered and given the complementry Inclusions offered before booking. Bon fire was not provided despite asking for.. similarly for Yoga class and hike to local temple was not provided.. #Food Food was good and tasty but dont expect for many options .. No buffet.. No juices / Fruits which are a basic these days.. The staff in Restaurant was very helpful always.. #Kids /Games Area the hotel has good play area but then needs improvement in terms of options and maintainance and availability of equipmemt... found maximum game equipements broken or in bad shape...found empty juice cans / water bottles in games bins... Overall a very good Hotel Resort... Beautifully Located and very good staff... with A little more polishing it can enhance the outlook, comfort to new levels.. Definately going to stay here next time

The first point is the staff co operation, they are very polite and helpful. I travelled with an infant and the staff co operated like a family could. You could travel solo, you could travel with a family if you are looking for a peaceful place to relax, it's a perfect weekend gateway. No noise, very peaceful, amazing view, limited people around (only people staying in the resort). The rooms are quite requiring maintenance but when you such a pleasant view, you kind of like to stay outside rather then sitting inside.
