This is a comfortable spot to stay on the island. The architecture is similar to homes on Tanna Toraja, Indonesia. Look at a few rooms before selecting one. You can ask for additional furniture (like chairs) to make the room more comfortable. Their kitchen is good. There is “interesting” artwork all around.

As the Circuit House acco.modation was not available in spite of confirmed booking we got 2 rooms in Dekachang by luck as some people preponed their departure. Majuli was crowded mostly with local tourists and the available hotels charged exorbitant rates on accommodation and food from outstation tourists. Dejachang is located in a scenic place on the Bank of a river but they provided minimum amenities and billed very high for everything. Hotel staff are simple and good people and it is a safe place. Majuli is a great place but government infrastructure for tourists is dismal.

No linen on bed. No soap in rooms. Very noisy ALL day and night. Nice owner. Nice manager. Both speak very good English. Food pretty good, or at least, good enough. My hotels on this trip have been booked through ITS. The agency needs to send someone to evaluate the post-COVID status of hotels. This one is a big, NO! There is a weaving village a short walk from the hotel. Well worth a visit.

The food the staff the rooms is excellent. The vibe is very chilled, there is no reception as such, the kitchen is where the manager is, he is extremely helpful, I had a chance to meet the owner who is also so beautiful to talk to. For Majuli’s basic housing options this place is excellent, it has a great sense of aesthetics and design, location is superb, its at the river, infact travellers from all around majuli come to appreciate the design of Dekasang. I have read some neg reviews of 2 years ago but I don’t seem to have the same opinion, we stayed in the deluxe rooms in dec 2021 which were perfect.

This hotel feels like someone had a good idea but never quite followed through. It is not at all welcoming and we flet like an imposition. It has a shabby, semi derelict feel like a an abandoned theme park that Scooby and Shaggy would find themslves in. It is grubby and the rooms are airless. The staff such as they are are elusive and the food was terrible, the only poor food we had in our three week tour. There are clearly some much nicer places now open around the island and this place does not deserve to stay open, avoid at all costs as there is nothing good to say about it. Simply awful.

Keep In mind that Majuli is out of the way do the options are limited. Not quite as charming as the pictures imply. Rooms were clean but sparse. Bathroom the same. There were gaps between the floorboards in our room leaving me to worry about what might crawl up in the night. Other rooms were not and bad. Luckily the bugs left us alone. There doesn’t seem to be a “office” or any common space except for eating area. As a matter of fact there didn’t seem to be anyone running the place. Having said that, it was worth putting up with meager accommodations to visit Majuli which is truly a gem of a place.

Basic is always OK by me, but it has to be clean. It was not. And friendly staff helps too. This was the only place during a three week trip that seemed un-managed and very aloof about their guests needs. The rooms were uncomfortable and there wasn't any common space to hang around in.
