Excellent infrastructure provided by Govt. but lack of proper care and marketing and the onslaught of boutique hotels and resorts it is becoming a burden. Well it is one of the finest infrastructure available at Majuli island of assam, The rooms are neat and tidy also a safe place to get your vehicles parked. The accessibility is also good nearby the town center and the food is average. It is just like any other Govt run hotels which are running somehow. If visiting during Majuli Raas, do book in advance !

Nice rooms and friendly staff. Food was average and it is better to skip meals taking into account the hygiene factors. We had a 2N stay at Majuli and we relied mostly on packed food. There are various Satras one can visit. The manager is a bit rude in talking to customers and doesn't care about taking feedback from customers. Room rates were from 1350-2200 depending on AC avaialbility and single / double bed TIP:There is no light from 8 am to 5-6 pm in Majuli. Taking AC room is pointless as the weather is pretty chilled. The manager will not inform you about power cuts so do ask him. Ask them to turn on the generators in case one needs to use geysers

I was very eager to stay in this resort reading the review. But totally disappointed. Terrible may be harsh. But this nice initiative by Assam govt has become a nightmare due to lack of maintainance. Rooms are peeling out. Maintainance is worst. In the night room become totally infested by insects. You will not be able to sit. Food quality is basic. I hope new Govt will look into this. Otherwise it is being a criminal wastage of resources.

Recently I along with family visited majuli on 12.04.2016 and stayed for 02 nights in Prashanti tourist lodge/resort. The room and design of the resort is nice. However garden not maintained at all but you can stay there easily. The rooms are nice, all rooms are located about 08 ft above the ground to avoid any water ingress due to flood. Very peaceful area and best for relaxing without any disturbance. Room rent is 1250 and 1600/- with all taxes. Generator arrangement is available, staff also good.Contact no.03775-273090191, Mob-9435734138, 9401094734. Address- Kamalabari, Majuli-785106.

The place is quite like how government run hotels are usually in our country. A spacious property with lazy staff. You have to remind staff several time if you need something or want a routine cleaning at your room. Rooms are well lit, spacious with gallery. Dont dare to order food and if you dont have any option other than this tell them in advance with few reminders. Other than this there is nothing much to do in this tourism department managed hotel in-spite of its good location and big space. Its sad to see wasting of such good place.

It is one of the few hotels that can make a long day a good one. Although the whole island gives off an aura of balance and makes you feel like all's good with the world, these cottages add to the feeling by making the stay very comfortable. Make sure to order all meals in advance and ask for room service. They do a pretty good job of it. Don't forget to get out of the room at night to watch the stars. If you're from a big city, this could be quite an overwhelming experience.

Ours was the only occupied room when we visited here. It was a big step up from staying in the satra guest house (where we stayed the night before) as there was room service, the food was simple but tasty and the room was relatively clean. There are lots of bugs at night (like all other places in Majuli) so carry some insect repellent and be prepared. All accommodation in Majuli is basic, so set your expectations accordingly and you are good to go.

It was a night I would prefer to spend in the car rather than at Prasanti Lodge. The rooms were not clean at all. Too many insects in the room and could count Lizards upto 6 all over. A Bathroom I would never step into. Insect blood stain everywhere in the room. The staff was also not cooperative. After 8 in the evening we could find nobody, not even the manager. For dinner they asked us to give the order two hours prior and that we did; we had insisted for food without onion since my mom's allergic to onions and even after having 2hrs time to prepare the food they din't serve it upto the demand. When told there were onions in the meal, the chef and the manager starts fight on whom to blame. Overall not good rooms and no good service. Wasn't worth what we paid atleast.

I reached Majuli in early November to experience this unique riverine Island in the MIghty Brhamaputra and landed myself at the Prashanti Cottage built and leased out by the Assam Tourism Development Corporation. The rooms need maintenance but gives you an old world charm. You have to order for your food in advance and they manage to give you a simple but palatable food. My advise is to focus on enjoying the experience of the unique rural ambiance of Majuli than expecting much from this resort. The stay overall was comfortable. I wanted to stay during the unique "Raas" festival of Majuli when the entire Island community gets charged up and there is excitement in the air. I heard they have some 40 "Rass lila" performance within such a small community (compare that with one in Guwahati). Tip: In case you want to experience the "Raas" fervor, book well in advance; contact Mr. S Thakur - +91 9864077046

My experience in Prashanti lodge was amazing, and II still can't believe how wonderful the staff was. Frankly, I have never been that well received in any hotel in my life. The hotel was nearly empty, and I guess we received kind of a special treatment, but still... For instance, when we asked how to get to a few satras, the manager called a friend and took us with their motorbike for a tour on the island. It lasted all day long and they didn't even let us pay for the gas... We've been offered many things as extras, everybody made sure we had a great moment here. It made my stay in Majuli feel very special. I would recommend this place to anyone!
