Okegiga Homes, is one of the most favored Resort in the World’s biggest river Island Majuli. Established in November, 2017 by two aspiring Entrepreneurs, who seek to bring a change in the Tourism scenario to cater the need of the new generation travelers like Digital Nomads, Location Independent entrepreneurs, Artists, Painters, Social Entrepreneurs, Backpackers, Budget travelers, the students and others. The space The Resort is located in a very serene environment with its surroundings occupied by a lovely woods and tiny river Kherkuti suti. The early morning is always beautiful with the rising sun and chirpings of the birds from the woods. And at night, sitting on the ground or the balcony of your cottage just gaze the stars and lost yourself. Of course, do not forget to make your wish when you witness the shooting star. The space is unique as it is the one and only accommodation, in Majuli, with different types of accommodation facilities viz, Traditional Bamboo Cottage, Wooden Cottage, Concrete hall/dormitory, Swiss Tent Cottage and Camping Tents. It has the river Lohit on the front while on the side you can enjoy the lovely wood.
One of the best experiences of resort environment I ever had at such a beautiful place of Majuli. Their hospitality feels like home. Their food feels the delicacy of home away from home. Delicious, multi-menued and rejuvenates the taste buds. The staff is full of care and affection towards the guests. You even get the pettiest of service like warm water and much more with ease and smile. I am in complete admiration after meeting the owner himself Deepmoina, a man of discipline, compassion, kindness and relentless service towards the people who would go for a stay at OKEGIGA HOMES. Also Riki (cook), Madhu (Manager), JP (caretaker) together they make you feel at home and I would say the most comfortable resort being a woman for me till now. I would say OKEGIGA HOMES - " A HOME AWAY FROM HOME". A must visit place.…

We stayed here for 2 nights and 2 days in a bamboo cottage. It was peaceful and an authentic rural experience. The room was spacious and the bathroom although basic was clean. Hot water had to be ordered but we didn't need it. We took a long walk along the river, crossed it in a quaint little boat, through local tribal villages with the manager of the homes who was very helpful. Our food was tasty. We loved the experience.

Okegiga has simple, yet confortable bamboo huts with attached bathrooms. It's located quite close to a river, though without direct river views. The staff was very friendly and the owner, Dipmoina, was very helpful and helped me arrange a tour of Majuli and also to book train tickets. In addition Dipmoina is a very interesting person, nature-loving and entrepreneurial. The food was cook on demand and was simple but quite tasty. It's definitively a special place to stay!

Amazing place to be.... Really cooperative staff.... And the place is hygienic and serene.... Loved it to bits... Just that the local boys working there have a difficulty understanding hindi and English if owner isn't available... And local food cooked by them is great but if u order anything fancy u r in a soup... And for vegetarians breakfast is an issue.... An amazing experience overall

This is a beautiful peaceful place, on a wonderful island. Dip was very kind and helpful and patient. And so we’re all the staff. The food was very tasty and they even went off menu and made a variety of very tasty local dishes. The beds were very comfy, and the surrounding nature is gorgeous. What can I say, we loved it. In addition to this, we went on some great walks - if you take a right outside of Okegiga and keep right it takes you to a river with a bamboo bridge (10 INR toll charge) and the road to the old (no longer in use) Khabolu River Ferry Point (2.5 hour walk) is an incredible walk through nature, tribal villages and past some amazing lakes - animals and beautiful birds a plenty. We spent 4 nights here and it was great. The people on the island are very lovely and helpful and eager to say hello. Have fun.…

A lovely place to hangout wd family nd friends. The hotel staffs were very polite. Food was average. At night bugs nd mosquitoes will disturb u. They give mosquito nets but the nets have holes in it. We took a good night fast card along with us to get rid of the mosquitoes. Otherwise the place is very unique and beautiful.

We stayed at Okegiga homes for 3 days in March 2018. The huts are simple but spacious with the basic amenities. The staff were helpful & co-operative, though a little new at their work. Please call & check what facilities they have before you book your accommodation. The area around Okegiga homes is beautiful with tall trees and the Lohit river nearby. For Birders it is a good place to stay. Food at okegiga homes was good & in generous portions. Will recommend it to people who love nature. The owner Mr. Dipoina Dowarah is very accommodating and ever willing to help. There is a Meshing village at a walking distance. Try their rice beer & fish dishes. Shawls at reasonable prices are available in this village.

I stayed in this beautiful property for 3 nights 4 days. The owner Dip Da and his Manager Keke and the crew took good care of us. The best part I felt is taught while this place has tent accommodations, they come with attached concrete bathrooms. The food menu is reasonable, for travellers of all budget. Cooked in firewood, thy serve tasty home cooked style meals. The location being close to the Lohit River bank, gives a beautiful sunset experience. Bicycles, two wheelers as well as four wheelers are available on rent. I would love to go and stay back in Okegiga any given day. Cheers :)
