Such a gem of a place, out in the bush. Go for the peace, lovely garden, good walks in the vicinity, or use the place as the best stopover from/to Cape and Namibia. Just the right day's driving distance. Stylishly appointed rooms, and excellent dinner thrown in. I was there both ways to Namibia and complimented myself of the choice,...

This was the best food on our whole trip - delicious. We stayed in one of the huts. This was excellent accommodation right in the middle of the flowering dessert. Staff were excellent and professional.

Good rooms, kind people with a lot of knowledge about the surrounding nature, very good food, and fine lounges with stoves, which were necessary during the time I was there: the end of winter. You can make nice long or short walks there. It is near to Namakwa National Reserve, so for nice trips by car it is a good...

Apart from the food there is little to recommend this hotel. It is an interesting mix, a combination of German Gastehaus/POW camp – there are rules and rules and rules is rules! Our room was in the main house, the bathroom was tired and tatty and the towels threadbare. The bed was comfortable enough but the pillows were awful. However,...

We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and the bathroom perfect. The dinner was very good and when we told the staff we would like to leave before the appointed breakfast time, they prepared a huge picnic box for us - totally unexpected and not asked for. A really good find 25kms outside Springbok

I have read many positive reviews by other visitors, but I however and unfortunate cannot agree. There are so many flaws that I really find it hard to say something positive, but I will do my best. When arriving we were greeted by a friendly young lady. She showed us to the sitting area in the main house, which was...

The lovely old house stood in the grounds of well maintained gardens with delightful views. We stayed in the Manor house and enjoyed the large en suite bedrooms with comfortable beds.Everywhere was spotlessly clean and all the staff were very friendly. However there were large garish paintings throughout which I felt were not in keeping with the dignified surroundings.

For privacy, peace and tranquillity, the Mountain Suites at Naries are hard to beat. Perched on a ridge about a kilometer from the main house, the quirky thatched design imaginatively incorporates natural hillside boulders. Well furnished with bar fridge and coffee/tea making facilities, even a complimentary carafe of sherry. Marvellous view from the deck, especially at sunset; on clear nights...

Naries is situated in a gorgeous location, we stayed in the the suites, which had amazing views and were totally thatched from ceiling to floor level with balconies overlooking the desert. The suites were huge but had a small double bed in, which was a shame. It was our most expensive stay on our trip and the only place where...
