A friendly welcome and clean spacious rooms and a lounge with wonderful views. Thatchings is conveniently sited near Nottingham Road . The situation provides good opportunities for walks from the house over a large area with views over a line of dammed lakes which step down the valley.

We booked into Thatchings for the weekend in order to attend a wedding but when it was cancelled we decided to go anyway. Trevor and Sue were very welcoming and they are very easy going about the time of arrival and going out in the evenings, one treats it like home which is nice. The surroundings are very nice and...

Trevor and Susan welcomed my friends and family for a weekend. They could not have been more accommodating in assisting us with all requests both prior to the weekend away, as well as when we were there. The setting is beautiful no matter what the weather, and the accommodation caters for the different needs of family's, couples and singles. Both...

Stayed for two nights at Thatchings. This was a relaxing weekend with great service. Had supper on the first evening. We had the steak meal for two of us and and my daughter had the chicken. Both options are highly recommended. The rooms were clean and comfortable, felt like home away from home. Trevor and his team made this a...

We had a great stay at thatchings, the owner and staff are such warm and wonderful people. The rooms are clean and kitted out with hot blankets to keep you warm on those inevitable misty evenings. The gardens are immaculate and there is lots to explore in the surrounding areas. Wonderful stay

Friendly and effortless check in, furnishings and decor excellent. Room clean and everything working and in order. Breakfast, top draw with friendly service. Very close to Providence wedding venue. From the looks of things it could be an awesome weekend get away. One thing that could be improved is the pillows, they are very hard and flat and need replacing.

Where to start. As we arrived we were greeted with a beautiful driveway lined with gorgeous indigenous trees. As we parked and made our way down the steps we were greeted by the super friendly and inviting owner who immediately took us on a tour around to explain the inns and outs about the surrounding neighbors, dams and wildlife. We...

We had a wonderful experience at this guesthouse - the rooms, the lounge, the food - all was fabulous! We stayed over a snow weekend - the fires in the lounge and dining room kept us cosy and warm. The warmth of the owners and the staff was unbeatable. Thanks so much!

Beautiful gardens and location, accommodation was good as well as the food, and the hosts were very warm and welcoming. Conveniently located with a short drive to Nottingham Road and the Midlands Meander.
